Former WWE superstar Enzo Amore will not face any charges after he was accused of sexual assault back in January.

Amore — real name Eric Arndt — was released from the WWE after the allegations first surfaced, where the former cruiserweight champion was accused of assaulting a woman at a Phoenix hotel in October 2017 while she was under the influence of drugs. At the time, Amore was the WWE cruiserweight champion prior to his release.

Immediately after the allegations were made, Amore vehemently denied any wrongdoing.

Phoenix Police confirmed on Wednesday that following an investigation into the matter, no charges would be filed against Amore although the case could be re-opened if new evidence comes to light.

“The Phoenix Police Department recently informed Mr. Arndt and his counsel that there is insufficient evidence in this matter to warrant any criminal charges, that the matter will not be transferred to the County Attorney for prosecution and that their investigation and case is closed. No charges were ever filed. The matter is closed,” Amore’s attorney Tom Cargill wrote in a press release on Wednesday.

Following his release from WWE, Amore fell out of the public spotlight but according to his attorney, he is already working on his next venture ‘in the entertainment industry’ but there’s no word yet if he plans on resuming his professional wrestling career.
