John Hennigan is now confirmed as a contestant of the 37th season of the CBS reality competition series, Survivor. ‘Survivor: David vs. Goliath’ was filmed in Fiji and will see “Davids” (underdogs who have overcome adversity) competing against “Goliaths” (standout athletes and lifelong overachievers) competing for the big $1 million prize.

Survivor host and executive producer Jeff Probst spoke to Entertainment Weekly about Hennigan being a perfect fit for the David vs. Goliath theme. “This guy that’s known as Johnny Mundo [a.k.a. John Morrison], the mayor of Slamtown. He’s a professional wrestler, he’s gigantic, he’s charming, and he’s smart. He started with advantage, he had a great family, and he’s used all of these skills to slay everybody his entire life.”

Hennigan is no stranger to the reality television scene, having won the third season of WWE Tough Enough along with Matt Cappotelli. He would later become a WWE Superstar, winning the Intercontinental Championship (3x), the WWE and World tag team championships and the ECW World Heavyweight Championship.

Hennigan is part of the fourth season of Lucha Underground that premieres on June 13th. He’s also been working for Impact Wrestling as Johnny Impact and has competed for MLW. It’s rumored that he could be working for New Japan Pro Wrestling in the near future.
