It turns out that WWE 2K19 will not be released on Nintendo Switch.

Despite the demand for the game, 2K Games has confirmed through a statement sent to the media on Monday, July 9, 2018 that the upcoming video game will not be available on the platform due to issues that have plagued the game on the Switch version. It was also noted that they did not want to spend the extensive time and resources on releasing a version of WWE 2K19 on a custom engine for the console.

It should be noted that the publisher did make it clear that their intention is to make “the best possible experience” for fans Here is their statement, courtesy of NintendoLife:

“WWE 2K19 will not be available on Nintendo Switch. 2K is focused on making the best possible experience for WWE 2K fans and will continue evaluating all opportunities to deliver the franchise across additional platforms.”

It’s already been announced that WWE Champion AJ Styles will be the cover star for the game while Rey Mysterio has been officially announced as the pre-order bonus character. It’s been rumored that there will be a second bonus character but that person has yet to be revealed.

WWE 2K19 will be released on October 9, 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
