A big title change occurred at the WWE Extreme Rules show.

Shinsuke Nakamura beat Jeff Hardy to win the United States Title at Sunday’s (July 15, 2018) WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view event in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at the PPG Paints Arena on the WWE Network.

Following the match, Randy Orton made his return after being on the sidelines due to a recent surgery to have an intense staredown with Nakamura and then laying out Hardy.

This marks the first title that Nakamura has held as a member of the main roster with the sports entertainment company. Back in April, Hardy won the United States Championship for the first time from Jinder Mahal.

As a result of this title win, it makes him the second star to complete the modern Grand Slam format after completing the original format.

Obviously, WWE has yet to announce when Hardy will get his rematch for the title but with Orton coming back and having an intense moment with Nakamura, it’s likely that Orton vs. Nakamura will take place on an upcoming episode of SmackDown Live on the USA Network or at the upcoming SummerSlam pay-per-view event that is slated to take place on Sunday, August 19, 2018 in Brooklyn, New York at the Barclays Center. Time will tell when WWE books this rematch.
