New Japan Pro Wrestling’s annual G1 Climax is widely regarded as the greatest tournament in pro wrestling today. Two blocks of competitors will compete in a round robin format to determine the number 1 contender to Kenny Omega’s IWGP Heavyweight Championship at January 4th’s Wrestle Kingdom. The tournament has now begun and here are the results from Night 3:

Michael Elgin b. Hangman Page – Elgin took the win via pinfall with the Elgin Bomb

EVIL b. YOSHI-HASHI – EVIL took the pinfall win after hitting his namesake move

Togi Makabe b. Minoru Suzuki – Makabe took somewhat of a shock pinfall win with the King Kong Knee Drop

Bad Luck Fale b. Kazuchika Okada – Fale also took a shock win by pinfall with Bad Luck Fall after Tama Tonga interfered and hit a Gun Stun on Okada

“Switchblade” Jay White b. Hiroshi Tanahashi – White took the pinfall win after hitting the Blade Runner. This came after a ref bump and a chair to Tanahashi’s face. White cut a promo after the match celebrating his wins over Okada and Tanahashi.
