Former WCW World Heavyweight Champion and actor David Arquette made his return to the professional wrestling ring last night (Sun. July 15, 2018).

Arquette wrestled under the name “King” David Arquette for a Championship Wrestling from Hollywood event in California. He was defeated by opponent RJ City. Arquette was able to get some offense in during the match, including a Diamond Cutter, before being defeated.

Some highlights of the match can be seen below (via Pro Wrestling Sheet):

Arquette got his start in the professional wrestling world back in 2000 when he co-starred in the moving “Ready To Rumble.” The film was based on a fictional wrestler, Jimmy King, who feuded with Diamond Dallas Page over the WCW World Title. Shortly after the film’s release, Arquette was brought on to WCW TV and eventually won the World Title.

His run with the company only lasted for a few months. WCW later went out of business and was purchased by WWE in 2001. Arquette has made a few appearances on WWE TV since. He was a guest on a 2002 episode of SmackDown and also lost a Handicap match in which he teamed up with Alex Riley against Randy Orton in 2010.

Arquette has been announced as an official Guest Superstar for the upcoming Starrcast convention outside Chicago during All In weekend.

He will rule you. He’s an actor. He’s a director. He’s a former WCW World Heavyweight Champion. He just made his return to professional wrestling at Championship Wrestling from Hollywood & we’re proud to announce him as a guest superstarr!
