A number of matches which were rumored to take place at WrestleMania 34 ended up being nixed because the injury bug struck again and several stars were put on the shelf.

During a recent interview with The Wrestling Estate, Jon Robinson, the writer of the book Creating The Mania: An Inside Look at how WrestleMania Comes to Life, revealed a couple of matches which were planned for the show but couldn’t take place.

According to him, both Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose and Kurt Angle vs. Jason Jordan were planned but these bouts were affected by Jordan and Ambrose’s injury:

“There were a lot of matches in play that could have completely changed the card, and then you hear about injuries affecting things like Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose. They were also trying to do Kurt Angle vs. Jason Jordan, but then Jordan got injured.”

After Ambrose’s injury halted these plans, Rollins ended up competing in a triple threat match against the Miz and Finn Balor where he won the Intercontinental Championship then held by The A-Lister.

Angle, on the other hand, ended up competing in a mixed tag match where he teamed up with Ronda Rousey to defeat Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. This was Ronda’s debut in pro wrestling.
