Ahead of Super Show-Down in Melbourne, Australia Triple H spoke with SBS World News reporter, Manny Tsigas. The topic of inter-gender wrestling came up and Triple H offered his thoughts on the subject.

“There’s just a shock moment to that and a spectacle moment to that,” Triple H said. “They don’t need a man to step in the ring with them to make them have a spectacular match.”

“To have a man vs a woman, it’s just shock value, you don’t need it,” he continued.

The interviewer continued that inter-gender wrestling would empower female wrestlers but Triple H disagreed.

“To say for a female to prove that she is empowered she has to compete against a man, or to have a man in the ring with her to be able to do what she does at a high enough level? No, you know what makes a female empowered?” Triple H asked. “When she is so good with another female in the ring that no man on the card can stand up to them.”

WWE has had several inter-gender wrestling matches in the past. The most recent of which involved James Ellsworth losing to Asuka on Smackdown. Ellsworth defends the Inter-Gender Championship on the independent scene.
