“Rowdy” Ronda Rousey delivered an impassioned promo against the Bella Twins on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, surprising a lot of fans as to how well delivered, energetic, and genuine she was able to make her words – especially when compared to previous promo time that the former UFC champion, and current Raw Women’s champion, Ronda Rousey has had.

The reason for this stark change is surprising: she wrote the whole promo herself.

According to Dave Meltzer, the promo was based on her real-life feelings about women who get by in life on nothing but their looks. She originally came up with "DNB = Do Nothing Bitches" while fighting in the UFC. That spark was the genesis for her promo this past Monday, highlighted by her coining the new phrase, “Do Nothing Bellas.”

Speaking about it on Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alveraz commented that the “Ronda Rousey promo Monday […] she wrote the entire thing herself. She did not have a writer. She wrote that. The line about the Bella’s name being a stain on society? She wrote that. That’s how she talks.”

Since announcing Nikki Bella vs Ronda Rousey at WWE’s Evolution event last week, ticket sales have reportedly increased. With the crowd engaged and reacting positively to the feud as it continues to develop, it appears the WWE has tapped into a prominent feud that continues to escalate as Evolution continues to grow ever closer to selling out.
