Demetrious Johnson’s new deal with ONE Championship just keeps getting sweeter. “Mighty Mouse” was moved from the UFC to ONE Championship as part of the first-ever major trade in MMA history. In return, the UFC received welterweight Ben Askren. Now, Johnson is set to be a part of ONE’s roster and is instantly one of the promotion’s biggest stars.

Now, Johnson has been given a major role in one of ONE’s latest ventures. On Wednesday (November 7, 2018) ONE announced it has partnered with Dentsu Inc., which is the world’s largest advertising agency brand, to launch ONE eSports:

“It is with great excitement that I announce ONE eSports, Asia’s largest global eSports Championship Series. We see a natural crossover between martial arts and gaming fans in Asia and an opportunity to bring them together under Asia’s home of millennial live sports.

“ONE Championship is committed to bringing its same brand of large-scale event production and live broadcast capabilities, unique world-class content production, global media distribution, storytelling expertise, and marketing experience to ONE eSports.

“Our mission is to celebrate Asia’s eSports heroes on the global stage. The establishment of ONE eSports transforms ONE Championship into Asia’s largest producer of millennial sports content.”

The press release also reveals that ONE will invest $50 million, as well as other key partners, into the project. ONE eSports will also broadcast live events, documentaries, reality shows, weekly magazine shows, and so much more to over 130 different countries. Also, Demetrious Johnson will serve as ONE eSports’ Chief Brand Ambassador.
