Impact Wrestling’s next pay-per-view event, Homecoming, is starting to take shape. On Sunday night, Impact held the first round of this week’s television tapings from Las Vegas, Nevada at the Sam’s Town Casino. Following this show, two championship matches have been confirmed for Homecoming and an angle has begun for the Impact World Championship main event.

First up is the Knockouts championship. Tessa Blanchard will defend against #1 contender Taya Valkyrie. At Sunday’s taping, Blanchard defeated Ray Lyn in singles action. After the match, Tessa called out Taya Valkyrie and told her that she would see her at the PPV.

Impact Tag Team Champions L.A.X. (Santana & Ortiz) will defend against The Lucha Bros. Fénix and Pentagon Jr. beat Rich Swann & Willie Mack at the taping.

X-Division Champion Brian Cage beat Sami Callihan (with OVE) to retain X-Division Title. After his win, Cage said he was going to cash in the title at Homecoming. There is speculation that he would cash-in the title in order for a World Title Match against Johnny Impact, but that has yet to be clarified. Impact has two more days of tapings to complete, so more info about this should surface by Wednesday.

Impact Wrestling’s Homecoming pay-per-view event is scheduled to take place at The Asylum in Nashville, Tennessee on January 6.

As of this writing, the promotion has yet to reveal any other details on the show. This will mark the first PPV of 2019 for the promotion.
