As seen at Sunday’s (November 18, 2018) Survivor Series pay-per-view event in Los Angeles, California at the Staples Center on the WWE Network, Team RAW (Mickie James, Nia Jax, Tamina, Bayley, Sasha Banks) beat Team SmackDown (Naomi, Sonya Deville, Asuka, Carmella & Mandy Rose) in the Women’s Elimination Tag Team Match.

The finish saw Jax knock Banks down which allowed Asuka to lock in the Asuka Lock for the elimination. Jax jumped Asuka with a series of leg drops then hit the samoan drop for the win.

If you recall, WWE had to make some changes to this match as it was expected that former WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair would be participating in this contest. Obviously, that went out the window once she replaced current SmackDown champ Becky Lynch to battle WWE RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey in a non-title match.

At last year’s show that went down on November 19, 2017, at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, Team RAW (Alicia Fox, Sasha Banks, Bayley, Asuka, and Nia Jax) defeated Team SmackDown (Becky Lynch, Naomi, Carmella, Natalya, and Tamina). Back in 2016, it was also Team RAW that prevailed over Team SmackDown. This was the third straight year that WWE Chairman Vince McMahon had decided to do the brand vs. brand theme for one of the big four events of the year of the year for the company.

It should be interesting to see where WWE officials go from her with the fallout of this match. WWE will close 2018 with the TLC pay-per-view event on Sunday, December 16th, 2018 in San Jose, California at the SAP Center. After that, it’s the road to WrestleMania.
