WWE had Alexa Bliss announce some big news during this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW in Memphis, TN that will have an impact at an upcoming show.

Bliss unveiled the Women’s Tag Team Titles as well as revealed that three teams from RAW and three teams from SmackDown Live would compete inside the Elimination Chamber to crown the first Women’s Tag Team Champions. As of this writing, no teams have been confirmed for this match.

This comes after WWE Chairman Vince McMahon confirmed in December that after months of talk of the possibility, there would be an introduction of tag team titles in the women’s division. At the time of this announcement, the speculation was that WWE could have separate titles on each brand just like they did with the men’s tag team titles. However, it appears that WWE is going with the idea of one set of champions defending the gold on both brands.

The Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event takes place on February 17, 2019, at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas and will air on the WWE Network. This will be the post-Royal Rumble PPV event as the company continues the road to WrestleMania 35.
