Dean Ambrose surprised everyone by choosing to leave WWE after WrestleMania and now it appears that another star can follow his footsteps and leave the company sometime soon.

Former NXT Star Tye Dillinger, who has been part of the SmackDown roster since 2017 confirmed on Twitter today that he has asked for his release from the company.

Dillinger sent out the following tweet, saying that he wants to straight things up before rumors start spreading and claimed that it is what’s best for him and WWE:

Tye Dillinger signed with WWE back in 2013. He was assigned to WWE’s development territory NXT upon his debut where he wrestled for almost 4 year before being called up.

He made his main roster debut during 2017 Royal Rumble and later joined the SmackDown roster while making his first appearance during the post WrestleMania episode of the show.

While he has asked for his release and made the request public as well, it’d be interesting to see if WWE grants the request considering the current environment.

There is no word yet on how much time Dillinger has left in his current contract and how long he may have to stay with the company if they decide not to let him go. We’ll keep you posted on his status.
