It looks like former WWE United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura will be staying with the company for the foreseeable future.

While recent months have sparked speculation that almost every notable WWE star on an expiring contract is considering jumping ship to the soon-to-launch All Elite Wrestling, the Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer claims 'The King Of Strong Style' will be sticking around.

Meltzer tweeted the following when asked whether Nakamura would be leaving or re-signing:

Given that Nakamura was reported to have signed a three-year deal upon joining the promotion in 2016, it's safe to assume that he has now inked a new contract with Vince McMahon.

The perceived mishandling of Shinsuke's main roster push means this news may take some by surprise. Regardless, a quick scan of the Japanese star's social media accounts shows a man happy with his life in the United States, no matter how his character is portrayed on SmackDown.

2018 was a tough year for 'The Artist,' who continually failed in his attempts at capturing AJ Styles' WWE Championship before sliding down the rankings. He now finds himself in a thrown-together tag team with Rusev, though this may change as the Superstar Shake-Up kicks off on tonight's Raw.
