The Boss N Hug Connection has been broken up on WWE programming. According to a recent report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the plan had always been to take the titles off the team and split them up but neither Banks or Bayley were informed of this until the day of WrestleMania.

“It should be noted that the decision to put the women’s tag titles on The Iiconics was not a last minute decision,”
wrote Dave Meltzer. “Banks & Bayley weren’t told until the day of the show. They were also told at the time that the company was going to drop them as a tag team.”

It is not known if they were told they would be placed on separate brands or not at the time.

It is believed that Banks and Bayley were told they would be given a chance to make the tag team titles matter by having a long run while defending the belts on RAW, Smackdown, and NXT.

The report would continue to say that Bayley was upset but did not quit and Banks was given a few weeks off after attempting to quit. Banks has not been booked for television but WWE is hopeful she will be back in time for the Money in the Bank PPV.
