The NWA announced earlier today that longtime women’s champion, Jazz, has relinquished her title. Jazz will also no longer be competing at the Crockett Cup on Saturday from Concord, North Carolina.

The promotion posted the following to their social media accounts in regards to the breaking news:

BREAKING

Jazz (@Phenom_Jazz) has vacated the NWA World Women’s Championship and will not appear at #CrockettCup.

A new champion will be crowned on Saturday. Allysin Kay (@Sienna) will compete in this match against an opponent to be named this week.

The NWA noted that Allysin Kay (Sienna) will still challenge for the title, only now she will be looking to win the vacated title against an opponent to be announced later.

As of this writing, it is not clear why Jazz will no longer be on the show.

The Crockett Cup tournament returns this weekend for the first time since the 1980s. The brackets for the tournament portion of the event look like this:

Block A:

  • The Briscoe Brothers (Mark & Jay Briscoe) vs the Rock N Roll Express (Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson)
  • PCO & Brody King (Villain Enterprises) vs Satoshi Kojima & Yuji Nagata

Block B:

  • Flip Gordon & Bandido vs Stuka Jr. & Guerrero Maya Jr.
  • The War Kings (Crimson & Jax Dane) vs Wild Card Battle Royal Winner**

** A wild card battle royal will be held before the tournament kicks off with the winners facing the War Kings in the 1st round.”

The rest of the lineup now looks like this:

  • Nick Aldis (c) vs Marty Scurll – NWA World Heavyweight Championship
  • TBD vs. Sienna – NWA Women’s Championship
  • Willie Mack (c) vs Colt Cabana – NWA National Championship

Jazz originally won the title at the REINA Makoto 10th Anniversary show in Korakuen Hall in October of 2016.
