Former WWE women’s champion Alexa Bliss will no longer compete at this weekend’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view with a replacement to be named ahead of the event.

WWE officials announced the news on Thursday.

“Alexa Bliss is not medically cleared to compete at WWE Money in the Bank this Sunday, and has been removed from the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match,” WWE officials said in a statement.

Bliss has largely been out of action outside of a few matches since this past October due to concussion protocol at WWE.

With her in-ring career delayed, Bliss began appearing on television in a segment called ‘A Moment of Bliss’ on Monday Night Raw while waiting to get cleared to return to action.

She participated in the Royal Rumble back in January and then made a couple of appearances in matches on television more recently but her schedule has been drastically reduced.

WWE has revealed Nikki Cross will take her spot.

We can confirm that @NikkiCrossWWE will replace the non-medically cleared @AlexaBliss_WWE in this Sunday's Women's #MITB #LadderMatch.
