Best of the Super Juniors Day 12, May 30th:

B Block

YOH defeated Ren Narita. This was great, with YOH going back to his young lion roots. He went after the knee early on. Narita looked excellent as the match went on. He used his new leg lace submission. Narita hit a perfect belly to belly and bridging German for a near fall. There were some nice near falls as they went back and forth with roll ups until YOH locked on the Calf Crusher for the tap out.

Bandido defeated Robbie Eagles. This was a really fun, fast paced match and a big win for Bandido. There were some dives early on and lots of striking. Eagles went after the knee and used the Rob Miller Special, but Bandido got to the ropes. Eagles countered a 21-Plex into a reverse rana, which spiked Bandido on his head. This was very hard to keep up with and recap, because they did a lot. Eagles had a 450 blocked with the knees, for another big near fall. The finish saw a struggle on the top rope end with Bandido hitting a spectacular reverse moonsault fall away slam. This loss more or less puts Eagles out of the running to win the block.

BUSHI defeated Rocky Romero. Rocky started this by taking off a mask and spraying water in the eyes of BUSHI. Rocky went after the arm again, and BUSHI used Rockys weak knee as a point of target. There were some good fiery strike exchanges. Rocky used an armbar, but BUSHI big his calf to escape. BUSHI hit a lung blower in the ropes and an MX to score yet another win.

Will Ospreay defeated DOUKI. This was another great Ospreay match, and without a doubt the best match DOUKI has had in this tournament. Ospreay is just sensational. He can have a great match with literally anyone. He jumped DOUKI before the bell, knowing that DOUKI was thinking the same. This was a wrestling match more so than the brawls that DOUKI usually has. He put on a great athletic display and was able to hang with arguably the best wrestler in the world. DOUKI hit an amazing northern lights suplex and a widows peak with a pin. There was a lot of really good striking from both guys. DOUKI hit a rana into a pin, but Ospreay kicked out, held on and muscled DOUKI up into a deadlift powerbomb. Taichi got involved at the finish, almost giving DOUKI the win, but Ospreay turned the match around when he hit Hidden Blade and Stormbreaker to finish the match. If you weren’t sure about DOUKI, this match might change your mind.

Ryusuke Taguchi defeated El Phantasmo. This was one started out weirdly and lost me with a lot of comedy, but it really picked up at the end. ELP did an even more ridiculous version of his top rope spot that made Taguchi look like an idiot. ELP arrogantly controlled a lot of the match. Taguchi made a comeback based around hip attacks. ELP hit a huge moonsault from the top rope to the floor, but ELP injured his ankle on the landing. The went back and forth as ELP struggled, until Taguchi started to target the ankle and try for the ankle lock. Taguchi caught a top rope enzuigiri attempt and turned it into an ankle lock. He hit two versions of Dodon, the second was an amazing near fall, and again went back to the ankle to pick up a big submission win, which means his final block match against Will Ospreay will decide the winner of B Block.
