Major League Wrestling is bringing in two more notable names from Mexico to their roster. The promotion announced today that Dr. Wagner Jr. & El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr will both debut in Chicago on July 6th.

MLW sent out a press release earlier today confirming that Salina de la Renta’s Promociones Dorado brokered the deal to bring in the two luchadors.

“Collectively known as La Dinastia Wagner, the Wagner family have competed in the sport for almost 50 years,” MLW’s press release reads. “With three generations fighting for the family’s honor, belts and the fans, the Wagner family is lucha royalty in Mexico and around the world.”

Having debuted in 1985, Dr. Wagner Jr is one of the most decorated luchadors still active today. He spent 16 years with CMLL before leaving the world’s oldest wrestling promotion for AAA and international companies in 2009.

“An international wrestler of excellence, Dr. Wagner Jr. has competed around the world including extensively touring for New Japan Pro Wrestling, winning championships on several continents and being the face of the video game, AAA: Héroes del Ring,” MLW’s press release continues.

El Hijo de Dr Wagner Jr. has been making a name for himself since debuting in 2009.

La Dinastia Wagner becomes the second father-son luchador duo in Promociones Dorado. LA Park and El Hijo de LA Park are also managed by Salina de la Renta. MLW is also home to two other famous wrestling families, as both the next generation Hart Foundation and Von Erich families perform for the promotion.

MLW just presented Fury Road from Milwaukee on Saturday evening. Episodes of Fusion taped on Saturday will continue to air throughout June. The promotion will then hold an event in Chicago on July 6th, followed by Never Say Never on July 25th from New York. On September 7th, MLW will then present War Chamber from North Richland Hills, Texas.
