WWE SmackDown star Aleister Black recently opened up to Sheamus on his Celtic Warrior Workouts to talk about his career.

This is where Black admitted that his time in NXT was short lived. In fact, the notice that he got about his call up to WWE’s main roster felt shorter.

“I wasn’t scheduled to be called up. It was a last minute decision,” said Black. The former NXT star would continue by stating that he had just got done doing a workout and took a nap as he had some time before going to an NXT live event.

This is when he got a phone call from WWE Performance Center Head Coach Matt Bloom informing him that he would be flying out for his WWE main roster debut.

Black made his RAW debut by taking on Elias in a singles match in Lafayette, LA back in February.

Triple H, who oversees NXT, opened the show by doing a promo in the ring about how four NXT talents will make their main roster TV debuts. Those talents were Tommaso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano, Black, and Ricochet.

Black would wrestle on SmackDown Live the following night. For a few months afterward, Black teamed up with Ricochet before the 2019 Superstar Shakeup happened that saw Ricochet be moved to RAW and Black on SmackDown Live.
