Many continue to speculate over whether CM Punk will ever really return to pro wrestling.

Despite making masked appearances for smaller indie promotions, delivering the odd GTS in the process, CM Punk has purposefully distanced himself from pro wrestling as a whole. In recent years, Punk has instead been pursuing a career in Mixed Martial Arts.

WWE Hall Of Famer, Mark Henry, believes it’s only a matter of time until fans see CM Punk back in the squared circle.

Speaking with Busted Open Radio, Henry explained his thought process behind this belief. When asked if he believes Punk will come back, he responded:

“I do. The biggest part of that reason is because I know how much he loves wrestling.”

He shared in Punk’s frustration in how WWE treated some of their best talents, refusing to grant them opportunities because of what they may have looked like. According to Henry, Punk grew frustrated with not being able to work with those he considered top talent.

“Sometimes in pro wrestling, there are guys that are on the bench that shouldn’t be on the bench. […] Punk did not like that. It’s like ‘put the best people out there and quit worrying about what they look like.’ If they’re good, the fans will love from for being good.”

CM Punk originally left WWE in 2014. He hasn’t been involved in a pro wrestling matchup since that time. Regarding his MMA exploits, Punk has had two UFC fights. He would lose fights against Mickey Gall and Mike Jackson, respectively.

Punk has also begun pursuing acting, taking a part in upcoming horror movie, Girl On The Third Floor.
