Angry WWE RAW Viewership Drops Against MLB Home Run Derby

Monday’s edition of WWE RAW from Newark, NJ at the Prudential Arena averaged 2.352 million viewers, down from 2.496 million the previous week.

Here is the hourly viewership breakdown, courtesy of ShowbuzzDaily:

    • Hour 1: 2.384 million
    • Hour 2: 2.349 million
    • Hour 3: 2.322 million

The episode was expected to increase in viewership as it was the go-home show of RAW for Extreme Rules. For comparison, the same episode last year drew 2.582 million viewers for hour one, 2.508 in the second hour, and 2.320 in the third hour.

The show aired opposite the MLB Home Run Derby that delivered 5.347 million viewers for ESPN, which hurt RAW’s rating.

Some of the matches that took place include Becky Lynch & Seth Rollins vs. Andrade & Zelina Vega, a Best Two Out Of Three Falls Six Man Tag Team Match, Bobby Lashley vs. Rey Mysterio, Ricochet vs. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson in separate matches, two Beat The Clock Challenge Matches, and Drew McIntyre & Shane McMahon vs. Cedric Alexander & Roman Reigns in the main event

The show also featured an appearance by Paul Heyman, who teased Brock Lesnar potentially cashing in his Money in the Bank contract at Sunday’s Extreme Rules PPV.

WWE will attempt to increase its viewership for RAW next week.
