After receiving praise and pulling in good viewership numbers, Viceland announced on Tuesday that they’ve renewed “Dark Side of the Ring” for a second season.

Viceland President Guy Slattery made the announcement during the Television Critics Association’s press tour and later the network issued a press release. Executive Producers Evan Husney and Jason Eisner will return for the second season that will be extended with 10 new episodes.

The second season will have “almost double the initial episode order, with 10 hour-long examinations of the collision of fantasy and reality and the stars’ larger-than-life characters in and out of the ring.”

The first season told the stories of the Von Erich family, Gino Hernandez, Bruiser Brody, The Fabulous Moolah and more. It was noted in the press release that the first season of the show “racked up the best premiere ratings in P18-49 and total viewers (P2+) of any series in the channel’s three-year history.”

Production has already begun on the second season. As of this writing, there’s no word yet on when the new episodes will begin to air.

“We were thrilled with the positive response to Dark Side when it debuted,” Slattery said. “The enthusiasm from fans and non-fans alike was contagious. We can’t wait to tell more of these stories.”
