Kongo Kong had been active in the wrestling world for more than 30 years but he got his first taste of the limelight when he signed with Impact Wrestling for a couple of years, before being released recently.

During a recent episode of Cut The Promo Wrestling Podcast, Kong talked about a number of things and detailed his talks with Impact Officials before his release.

Kong recalled that on the very last set of tapings he did for Impact, they asked him if he would be okay with doing a segment with Johnny Impact followed by an angle where he would jump into Lake Ontario.

So he called and asked the officials if it was something he was going to come back from and the Impact Officials told them that he will be back on TV and he will be wrestling Brian Cage.

However, after the whole angle took place and after Kongo Kong wrestled Brian Cage, he never got invited back for the next set of tapings.

According to Kong, he has no clue what transpired after that but he doesn’t think it’s anything he has done because he has stepped up and done everything they wanted him to do. They had a different vision and so Kong has also moved on.

Apart from this Kongo Kong also talked about working with Johnny Impact, how he got signed by Impact Wrestling and more.
