Alongside the number of new wrestlers they have signed to development contracts recently, WWE has also hired a Japanese Wrestling veteran to work as a coach at the performance center.

The company announced via a press release on their site today that they have signed Japanese veteran and former NJPW Star Tokimitsu Ishizawa, better known by his ring name Kendo Kashin to work as a coach:

“The WWE Performance Center has added one of Japan’s most decorated junior heavyweight wrestlers to its coaching ranks. Tokimitsu Ishizawa, who made his name in the squared circle as masked grappler Kendo Kashin, is the newest coach to join WWE’s training facility in Orlando, Florida.”

Though this won’t be the first time Kashin would be coaching at the performance center as he was initially brought there as a guest coach beck in February this year.

Ishizawa was considered to be one of Japan’s top junior heavyweights during his time and he spent a long time in New Japan Pro Wrestling where he won a number of championships.

He had a number of stints with the Japanese promotion. During his time there, he won the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship twice while also winning other titles in the company and wining the Young Lion Cup in 1999.
