Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson and Lauren Hashian got married over the weekend in Hawaii. The two met while working on the 2006 film “the Game Plan.”

The Rock shared the following photo of the ceremony to his followers on social media:

The Rock has been involved in recent protests in Hawaii against the building of a large telescope atop the summit of the volcano Mauna Kea. The area is seen as sacred ground to many local residents. While the Rock is Samoan, he spent part of his childhood in Honalulu and has deep connections with the islands.

“The world is watching,” Rocky told reporters at the protests. “And the world is saying we should take a pause. This is where care and decency and love and respect for not only culture but for humanity really comes into play.”

“It is people who have so much pride and are willing to sacrifice everything they have to protect something so incredibly sacred to them,” he continued. “Mauna Kea represents all of Hawaii.”

The Rock is also set to star in a new film where he will play a famous figure from Hawaiian culture. The Great Kamehameha was the first King of Hawaii and the person who would unite the once war-torn islands. The Rock will portray Kamahameha in a new film.
