Jordan Myles takes aim at Adam Cole’s NXT Title

This week, Jordan Myles will reap his reward for winning the NXT Breakout Tournament, as he challenges Adam Cole for the NXT Championship. Plus, Velveteen Dream collides with Kona Reeves, Bianca Belair battles Taynara Conti and more on this week’s episode of WWE NXT.





Jordan Myles won the Breakout Tournament and he got to choose the champion he would face. He chose NXT Men's Champion Adam Cole. That match happens tonight.

Tyler Breeze and Fandango vs Chase Parker and Matt Martel

Martel and Fandango start things off and they lock up. Martel with a kick on the break followed by a wrist lock. Parker tags in and he punches Fandango. Parker goes for a sunset flip but Fandango stays on his feet and he gyrates before punching Parker and hitting a leg drop. Breeze tags in and Breeze with a suplex for a near fall. Breeze with a forearm and Irish whip. Breeze with a forearm into the corner and then Breeze relaxes on the turnbuckles. Parker is not happy with Breeze's actions and Parker misses a splash. Parker with a punch and he tags in Martel.

Breeze with a drop kick followed by an arm drag into an arm bar. Parker tags in and he connects with a knee to the head and Parker with punches. Parker with a top wrist lock. Parker with an Irish whip but Breeze with a forearm to Martel. Breeze with an enzuigiri and Parker falls onto Breeze's legs to stop his momentum to the corner. Martel helps pull Breeze into the corner. Parker iwth an arm bar. Fandango tags in and Fandango with clotheslines. Fandango with chops and a power slam. Fandango with a power slam to Martel. Fandango with a Falcon Arrow and Breeze tags in. Breeze with a catapult into a forearm and Fandango with a slingshot elbow drop for the three count.

Winners: Tyler Breeze and Fandango

We see Keith Lee and Jordan Myles arriving at Full Sail. Jordan is asked about his match tonight against Adam Cole. Jordan says he is nervous, but he has the chance to become NXT Champion. Keith tells Jordan to calm down because he has only been here a few months and he will take advantage of this opportunity..

We cut to the back where Io Shirai is attacking Candice LeRae with a kendo stick. Officials pull Shirai away from Candice as another official checks on Candice.

We are back and Cameron Grimes is pissed that he did not win the Breakout Tournament. It was all he wanted. He wanted to be projected to the top. He wanted to be a number one contender for any title he desired. He says he is at the bottom. He says he is back at the very bottom. His goal is to get back to the top and to get more than the number one contendership. His goal is to be the champion.

Velveteen Dream vs Kona Reeves

They lock up and Dream with a side head lock and Reeves backs Dream into the corner. Dream swings at Reeves but misses and Reeves says he won't back down. Reeves goes for the leg and they roll along the ropes. Dream pushes Reeves away from the corner and then he kicks Reeves. Dream with a side head lock and Dream with a drop kick. Reeves with an Irish whip and Dream with an elbow. Reeves with a kick to Dream followed by punches. Reeves with a bicycle kick. Dream slaps Reeves but Reeves punches Dream and sends him to the apron. Reeves is warned by the referee and then he hits a running boot to the side of the head.

Reeves with a punch to Dream but Dream punches back and they go back and forth. Dream with a kick to the head followed by clotheslines. Reeves with an Irish whip but Dream comes off the turnbuckles with a twisting double sledge. Dream pushes Reeves into the turnbuckles but Reeves sends Dream to the apron. Reeves drops down and uses the ropes when Dream goes for a sunset flip and the referee warns Reeves. Dream with a crescent kick followed by a super kick. Dream with a rolling Death Valley Driver for the three count.

Winner: Velveteen Dream

After the match, Roderick Strong appears on the HunterTron and he says that you said the spotlight was on him and he asked if Roderick was ready for a one on one experience with him? You love the bright lights and now you have them. We see Dream's couch on fire and Roderick asks if he has his attention.

Taynara Conti vs Bianca Belair

They lock up and Belair backs Conti into the corner and Belair with a clean break. They lock up and Belair backs Conti into the corner again and Conti pushes Bianca. Bianca pushes back and Conti with a forearm and monkey flip and float over for a near fall. Conti wtih a knee to the midsection and then she goes for a float over into a cross arm breaker but Belair does not go down. Conti with a rollup for a near fall. Belair with a shoulder tackle and she gets a near fall. Conti with an Irish whip and Balair floats over and then flips over Conti and hits a drop kick. Belair misses a splash into the corner.

Conti with a monkey flip and Belair lands on her feet. Conti sends Belair into the turnbuckles. Conti runs Belair's face across the bottom rope. Conti kicks Belair to get her out of the corner and Conti with a near fall. Conti with a reverse chin lock. Conti with a judo throw and she has a kick blocked. Belair with a rollup for a near fall. Conti with a kick to Belair and Conti gets a near fall. Conti with forearms. Conti with a running double knee strike followed by a jumping knee in the corner. Conti goes to the turnbuckles and applies a cross arm breaker in the ropes and Belair falls on the floor when Conti releases the hold.

Conti with a cross body off the apron but Belair catches Conti and hits a fallaway slam on the floor. Belair with a hair take down followed by forearms. Belair with a handspring moonsault to the back. Conti escapes a suplex attempt but Belair floats over and connects with a forearm. Belair with the KOD for the three count.

Winner: Bianca Belair

Adam Cole gets ready for his title match and he remembers to bring the title belt with him.

We are back and we are told that Johnny Gargano will be on next week's episode of NXT.

William Regal is in his office and he says there will be a Number One Contender's Triple Threat match for the NXT Women's Championship in two weeks. The contestants will be Mia Yim, Bianca Belair, and Io Shirai.


NXT Men's Championship Match: Adam Cole vs Jordan Myles

They lock up and Cole backs Myles into the corner and Cole pats Myles on the chest with a clean break. Cole with a waist lock and side head lock take down. Cole with a side head lock. Myles tries for a head scissors but Cole avoids it. Myles gets back to his feet and Cole with a shoulder tackle. Cole with a side head lock take down. Cole with an Irish whip and Myles tries for a float over but Cole does not go into the corner. Cole with a side head lock take down. Myles with a hip toss into an arm bar.

Cole with a wrist lock take down but Myles holds on and keeps the arm bar. Myles with a splash to the arm. Cole with an Irish whip and Myles floats over and rolls past Cole and follows with a drop kick. Myles goes to the apron and he misses a kick. Cole pulls Myles off the apron and he lands face first on the apron before going to the floor. Cole sends Myles face first into the ring post. Cole sends Myles into the turnbuckles and connects with a forearm and kick. Cole with a hard Irish whip. Myles with punches and a forearm. Cole sends Myles throat first into the middle rope.

Cole kicks Myles and then connects with a knee drop to the back of the head. Cole with a figure four head scissors. Myles gets to the ropes to force Cole to release the hold. Myles swings at Cole while Cole taunts Myles. Cole pie faces and taunts Myles. He tells Myles to give him his best and Myles can barely swing. Cole with a forearm and Myles with a forearm. Cole fires back. They continue the exchange. Myles with jabs and Myles with running forearms and a leg trip followed by a drop kick. Myles with a pescado onto Cole.

Myles sends Cole back into the ring and Myles with a cross body for a near fall. Myles with a waist lock and Cole with an elbow. Cole misses the enzuigiri and Myles with a deadlift German suplex for a near fall. Cole with a bicycle kick and he gets a near fall. Cole gets Myles on his shoudlers but Myles with elbows to escape. Cole with a lungblower for a near fall. Cole goes to the turnbuckles for a Panama City Destroyer but Myles moves. Myles goes to the turnbuckles and Cole with a thrust kick to the leg and Cole with a figure four leg lock. Myles reaches for the ropes and he almost gets there. Myles rolls through and he gets to the ropes and Cole has to release the hold, but he takes his time.

Cole puts Myles on the turnbuckles and connects with a forearm. Cole with a punch and he sets for a superplex. Myles with a forearm to send Cole to the mat. Cole with a bicycle kick as Myles comes off the turnbuckles. Cole with a brainbuster onto the knee and he gets a near fall. Cole is sent to the apron and Myles with a springboard drop kick to send Cole to the floor. Myles with a running kick on the apron. Myles sends Cole back into the ring but Cole rolls to the floor. Myles with a suicide dive and they return to the ring.

Myles goes up top and hits a frog splash for a near fall. Myles goes back to the apron and he goes back up top. Myles goes for the 450 splash and Myles rolls through when Cole moves. Myles with a super kick and he goes up top for the 450 splash but Cole gets his knees up. Cole pulls the knee pad down for the Last Shot but Myles ducks. Myles with an O'Connor Roll for a near fall. Cole with a series of super kicks and Last Shot for the three count.
