Melissa Cervantes has signed with Alberto El Patron’s MMA promotion Combate Americas. Cervantes is better known by her in-ring name Thunder Rosa and has also wrestled as Kobra Moon (Lucha Underground) and Serpantine (WOW).

According to a report from ESPN, Cervantes has signed a multi-fight deal with the promotion. The 28-year-old is a longtime Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner and has been training for her MMA debut. She is expected to receive a fight on the promotion’s November 8th show in her adopted hometown of San Antonio.

“Combate Americas signed popular indie pro wrestler Thunder Rosa to a multi-fight contract Friday, sources told ESPN,” the report reads. Squared Circle Sirens reported last week that Rosa was training for her MMA debut and noted signing with Alberto’s promotion seemed likely. She is expected to fight under her in-ring name of Thunder Rosa.

Thunder Rosa and Holidead frequently team together as the Twisted Sisterz. The pair are former Shine tag team champions and have also participated in ROH’s Women of Honor division. Rosa last competed for ROH this February in a losing effort to Madison Rayne.

Rosa was a member of the Lucha Underground roster as part of the Reptile Tribe. She is also currently on the second season of WOW where she recently wrestled champion Tessa Blanchard in a title match.
