Lio Rush has made his return to not only WWE television but also in-ring action.

Rush did so on Wednesday’s episode of NXT in Winter Park, Florida at Full Sail University that saw him beat Oney Lorcan in a #1 Contender’s Match.

As a result of this victory, he has earned the right to be the next in line to challenge WWE Cruiserweight Champion Drew Gulak for the title.

This has confirmed that the Cruiserweight Title will now be part of the NXT show every week, which has been heavily speculated on by fans. As of this writing, there’s no word yet on when this title match will take place.

Rush got fans speculating on social media earlier this year after he removed all mention of WWE from his bios on both Twitter and Instagram.

There have been several reported issues involving Rush that had apparently led to him getting backstage heat and being removed from television.

Before being removed from television, he was serving as Bobby Lashley’s manager.
