Wednesday’s edition of WWE NXT averaged 1.179 million viewers, according to ShowbuzzDaily.

The previous time that NXT aired on the USA Network was during WWE week back on December 17, 2017 that drew 841,000 viewers. The show ranked #22 on the Cable Top 150.

To compare, this week’s RAW drew 2.272 million viewers (up from last week’s 2.130 million viewers), Tuesday’s SmackDown drew 2.064 million viewers (up from last week’s 2.061 million viewers).

The episode was expected to draw big viewership numbers because it was the first episode of NXT on network television.

The show had to go up against that Basketball Wives did 1.226 million viewers, Tucker Carlson Tonight with 3.285, and Anderson Cooper 861,000. Suits that followed NXT on the USA Network did 955,000, which down 10,000 viewers from the prior week.

Matches that took place on this show include Candice LeRae taking on Bianca Belair and Io Shirai and Mia Yim in a #1 Contendership Fatal Four Way Match, Roderick Strong vs. Velveteen Dream for the NXT North American Title, Pete Dunne vs. Arturo Ruas, Lio Rush vs. Oney Lorcan in a Cruiserweight Title #1 Contendership Match, and Killian Dain vs. Matt Riddle in a Street Fight.

WWE will attempt to increase viewership with next week’s episode, which should be interesting to see what number it pulls in.
