Fans were not pleased with the ending of Hell In A Cell and people in attendance showed their displeasure with the finish to the Universal Championship match at the show using various chants, including one about AEW.

During a recent interview on the Joe Cronin Show, AEW Vice President Cody Rhodes talked about a number of things and he also reacted to these fan chants from the PPV that took place this past Sunday night.

Rhodes revealed that he did not watch the event but his phone started blowing up with notifications after the AEW chants were heard in the arena and according to him, it’s flattering:

“It was flattering. I wouldn’t be one to gloat about it only because I know that one of the guys in that match got concussed and this job ain’t that easy, but nevertheless whenever we hear those chants, it’s more validation that what we’re doing and what we’ve been saying about this market existing, it’s real.”

While the Hell In A Cell PPV featured some good matches, the main event between Seth Rollins and Bray Wyatt for the Universal Championship infuriated a lot of fans due to its controversial finish.

The Hell In A Cell match ended with referee stoppage after Seth tried to attack Wyatt with a sledgehammer and the show ended with The Fiend attacking Rollins once again and standing tall after taking the Universal Champion down.
