The second week of the WWE NXT vs. AEW Dynamite war is in the books.

Wednesday’s edition of WWE NXT averaged 790,000 viewers, which is down from the 891,000 viewers that the show drew last week on the USA Network, according to ShowbuzzDaily.

AEW Dynamite that aired during the same time slot on TNT pulled in 1.018 million, which is down from the premiere episode that did 1.409.

Due to MLB airing on both TNT and TBS that could have impacted AEW, the call was made to simulcast Dynamite, which drew 122,000 additional viewers on True TV. This adds up to 1.140 million in total viewers for AEW.

Thus, AEW won the night. The key number is the 18-49 demos that saw AEW draw 0.46 while NXT drew 0.22.

To compare, this week’s RAW drew 2.334 million viewers (down from last week’s 2.570 million viewers), which was the post-Hell in a Cell show.

WWE and AEW will attempt to increase viewership with next week’s episodes, which should be interesting to see what number it pulls in.

The shows had to go up against that Basketball Wives did 1.342 million viewers, Tucker Carlson Tonight with 3.244, and Anderson Cooper 1.206. The biggest competition was an MLB playoff Game on TBS that drew 5.856 million.

Matches that took place on the NXT show included Lio Rush defeating Drew Gulak to win the Cruiserweight Title, Roderick Strong defeats Isaiah Scott, and WALTER defeating Kushida.

Top matches on AEW included a World Tag Team Title Tournament First Round Match that saw Private Party defeat The Young Bucks, Darby Allin defeated Jimmy Havoc in a World Title #1 Contendership Match, and Jon Moxley defeated Shawn Spears.
