World Ring Stardom and New Japan Pro Wrestling will now be owned by the same company, Bushiroad. At a press conference earlier today, it was announced that Stardom is now owned by Kix Road, a subsidiary of Bushiroad. Kix Road is scheduled to change its name to Bushiroad Fight Co, Ltd later this year.

The two wrestling promotions will still be run separately and their two streaming services, New Japan World and Stardom World, will not be merged. Stardom will debut a new 30-minute show in Japan as part of the deal and Bushiroad is hoping to increase the popularity of the brand much as they did for NJPW.

There are currently no plans for NJPW to feature women’s matches on their shows.

The Joshi Puroresu promotion World Ring Stardom was founded by Fuka, Nanae Takahashi, and Rossy Ogawa in 2010. Since then the promotion has become one of the top Joshi promotions in the world.

AEW features many wrestlers who made a name for themselves in Stardom. Such names include the current World of Stardom Champion Bea Priestley and current AEW Women’s World Champion Riho. Other Stardom alumni include Kairi Sane, Io Shirai, Dakota Kai, Mia Yim, Deonna Purrazzo, and Tessa Blanchard.
