Mexican wrestling star La Parka was injured at Sunday night’s AAA live event from Monterrey, MX. The injury took place during a spot where La Parka did a suicide dive to the outside of the ring. He landed badly and his opponent Shil-Kah was also hurt. Both men were hospitalized.

Shil-Kha is fine, he told me in the press area after leaving nursing.

There has been some confusion regarding the identity of the ‘La Parka’ who was injured last night. To clarify, the wrestler who works for AAA as La Parka is not the same performer as LA Park, the luchador who works for Major League Wrestling and wrestled as La Parka in WCW.

MLW addressed the situation on social media, expressing support for AAA star La Parka. MLW wishes La Parka a speedy recovery and assured fans that LA Park is in good health with no connection to Sunday night’s incident.

MLW sends its thoughts and prayers out to La Parka AAA of @LuchaLibreAAA who was injured this weekend.

For those asking, LA Park (@laparktapia) is a different luchador than La Parka AAA. LA Park is in good health and joins us in wishing La Parka AAA a speedy recovery.

NXT star Kassius Ohno posted a lengthy statement regarding the dangers of the dive spot in question.

I don’t recommend seeking out the footage of these two dives. Spine-chilling, quite literally

Wrestlers & fans alike take heed- however easy & routine these death defying maneuvers appear to be, they are just that: DEATH DEFYING

They have the potential to change careers & LIVES
