Sami Callihan won the Impact World Championship on a show which aired last night on AXS TV. Callihan defeated Brian Cage inside a steel cage to headline the card. His title win has drawn reactions from fans and wrestlers alike, with many reaching out to offer their congratulations to Sami. Unfortunately, the new Impact champion seems to not appreciate any of the positive comments he has been receiving.

Tommaso Ciampa sent out the following in regard to Sami’s victory last night:

Sami Callihan and I attended the same TNA tryout years ago. Neither of us were offered a deal.

He later signed with WWE. I signed with ROH. He quit WWE. I quit ROH.

We both crossed paths countless times around the world.

Tonight, Sami became the Impact World Champion.

Callihan wasn’t interested in exchanging pleasantries with Ciampa, however:

Host of Busted Open Radio Dave LaGreca attempted to congratulate Sami, who is a frequent guest of the show. Callihan opted to insult LaGrega in response to his comments but will still make an appearance on the show this morning.

Callihan becomes the 26th wrestler to win the Impact World Championship and begins the 46th reign in its lineage. Cage’s title reign finishes at 180 days and he sits at 11th on the all-time combined days spent as champion statistic. The top eleven Impact World Champions of all time are below:
