Former NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa has zero interest in joining WWE’s main roster. So much so, that he has said that he told WWE that if they ever move him to Raw or SmackDown, he’ll retire from active competition and become a backstage producer or a coach at the Performance Center.

The former NXT Champion revealed this while appearing on Lillian Garcia’s Chasing Glory podcast for an interview. He shared that he fought the call-up as much as he could. Their coach at the Performance Center, Shawn Michaels found this amusing as he never experienced someone rejecting a higher pay and a promotion.

Ciampa reiterated how serious he is about the matter. He said that he had communicated with the company how much he believes in NXT and wanted to see how far they can go.

Tommaso also added that a main roster run is not going to be of much worth to his portfolio and would also make him stay away from his family because of the tight main roster schedule, as he would be on the road for the majority of the year.

With only recently returning from his neck injury, Ciampa believes his clock is ticking and he doesn’t want to put the years that he has left on the main roster. The Blackheart has vocalized to them that if he were to be moved to either Raw or SmackDown, he would have a six-month run and just retire to work as a producer or coach for the company.
