All Elite Wrestling World Champion Chris Jericho has defended his former WCW colleague Disco Inferno after a fan lashed out with an online outburst. The two frequently worked together during the ‘90s when both were a part of WCW—a time that Jericho clearly looks back fondly on.

When a fan insulted Inferno via social media, claiming that nobody has ever paid to see him wrestle before calling him a joke and an embarrassment to wrestling, “Le Champion” refused to stay silent. He replied to the disparaging remarks, commenting:

Totally not true jerkoff. @TheRealDisco was great at what he did and I LOVED working with him. So shut your ass and eff off.

The fan also incorrectly argued that Inferno had never held a title for any promotion. In WCW alone, Inferno held the company’s Cruiserweight, Television and Tag Team Championships.

The critical comments were initially made after Inferno shared a GIF of a missed spot between Bea Priestley and Mayu Iwatani. Inferno has been outspoken in the past over his personal views on women’s wrestling, something that Impact Wrestling decided to turn into an on-screen storyline—one that has seen him competing against numerous female talent in several intergender matches.
