The next challenger to AEW TNT Champion Cody Rhodes will be Jungle Boy.

During Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite, All Elite Wrestling held a match that would determine who is next in line for a title shot.

A Battle Royal took place with the final four coming down to Jungle Boy, MJF, Wardlow, and Orange Cassidy. The final two were Jungle Boy and Cassidy.

Jungle Boy was victorious, earning the right to challenge Rhodes for the AEW TNT Title.

Earlier in the night, during a promo, Rhodes announced that he’ll defend the championship every week on Dynamite. This actually got a response by former WWE star Zack Ryder, who is good friends with Rhodes.

This was an interesting tease by Ryder, but there’s no word yet on whether he’s signed with AEW.

Open challenge………

Rhodes just became the inaugural AEW TNT Champion when he beat Lance Archer in the tournament finals at the AEW Double or Nothing pay-per-view event on Saturday night. Boxing legend Mike Tyson presented the championship.

Fan reactions to the title’s design were mixed after it was presented by Tyson. Tony Schiavone had mentioned on the broadcast that due to the pandemic, the title wasn’t actually finished yet.

It’s a simple title belt design with a red strap and silver plates. The center plate has TNT in the middle while the side plates have a house on it, which is actually a replication of Ted Turners’ mansion.
