Impact Wrestling has blocked its contracted talent from appearing in Virtual Basement’s upcoming pro wrestling video game.

Virtual Basement is an indie video game studio developing a 3D wrestling game for mainstream consoles. They have not yet released gameplay footage. However, they have been making noise on social media this year with announcements of wrestlers signing on to be playable characters in the game.

The untitled Virtual Basement wrestling game will featured a wide variety of wrestling stars. Popular wrestling names signed on to appear include Ken Shamrock, nZo, Matt Taven, Brian Pillman Jr, Matt Sydal, Brian Cage, Lio Rush, Eli Drake, Nick Mondo and more.

YouTuber VikingSizeGamer released this video on June 3 saying that Impact Wrestling has pulled its contracted talent from backing out of agreements to appear in Virtual Basement wrestling. VSG says Impact sent a memo to their contracted talent asking them to refuse to be in the game, even if they already agreed.

Virtual Basement commented on the situation and said the news is “sadly true.”

It's sadly true – but we're moving forward and have a fantastic roster we believe in and lots of new surprises on the way!
