- After the signature video open, we go LIVE inside Daily's Place amphitheater in Jacksonville, Florida as pyro explodes and fire erupts on the entrance stage as the camera pans around the special decorated amphitheater.

- Jim Ross then formally welcomes us to the show on commentary, as do The Excalibur and Tony Schiavone, all three of whom then introduce their special fourth guest announcer for AEW FYTER FEST Night 1 -- "Le Champion" himself, Chris Jericho.

- Chris Jericho (decked out in his Canadian flag suit jacket for Canada Day) joins commentary before the first match gets started. He immediately says, "You ever had pyro before, Excalibur? You dumb idiot!"

- MJF gets on the mic, says he's getting tired of beating Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy over and over again. He rips on the two guys, says he gave Jungle Boy the best match he'll ever have in his career. MJF says this match is happening because they are in a ratings war and the only way to win is putting a guy like MJF on the front lines.

MJF and Wardlow vs. Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy (with Marko Stunt)

JB with a big clothesline right off the bat. Out on the apron, JB tries for a hurricanrana, MJF hangs on and Wardlow boots him in the face. Wardlow then throws him in the ring post and back into the ring. MJF with an overhead release suplex, does a little Ric Flair strut and taunts Luchasaurus. Referee barking at MJF, so Wardlow chokes away at JB. Wardlow tagged in, exploder suplex as he stares at JB's partner.

MJF back in, JB with a suplex, but MJF gets the ref's attention as JB gets a tag, but doesn't let Luchasaurus in the ring because he didn't see it. Back and forth tags as they work over JB. Luchasaurus finally gets in and goes to work on both opponents, kicks and chops for each guy. Flurry of kicks to Wardlow. MJF sent out to the floor, JB with two suicide dives and then a big flip down on MJF. Jungle Boy goes to jump in the ring, Wardlow pulls him down, tries to chokeslam him, but he flips out and kicks him. Luchasaurus with a step-up senton out to the floor on Wardlow! Back in the ring double team cutter on MJF, cover, Wardlow breaks it up.

Wardlow back in the match, hurricanrana on Luchasaurus! JB tries for on, but gets blocked, he goes for a F-10, and JB hits a poisonrana, but then gets dropped. MJF with an eye poke to Luchasaurus. Stunt up on the apron for a moment. Referee turns around and all four guys are down. MJF and JB both kip up at the same time. As do the big man. JB hits an assisted canadian destroyer on MJF. Stunt tries to get involve, but is caught in midair by Wardlow. He then throws Stunt off the stage and down on JB. MJF hits a lowblow and tries for the roll-up on Luchasaurus, but he kicks out at two. Wardlow with a big senton, cover, two.

MJF tries to punch Luchasaurus with the Dynamite Diamond Ring on while Wardlow holds him. He almost ends up punching him ("Can't you do anything right?!" MJF yells), but Luchasaurus shoves MJF and he does end up punching Wardlow with that ring on. MJF sent to the floor. JB with a swinging DDT on Wardlow, chokeslam by Luchasaurus, Wardlow sits up, gets kicked in the face, standing moonsault, cover, 1-2-3.

Winners: Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy

- At ringside, Lance Archer and Joey Janela are brawling a bit, the two will meet next week. Sonny Kiss and other referees keep them apart as Roberts taunts Janela.

- Puppy Battle Royale after next week's Dynamite.

AEW Women's World Championship: Hikaru Shida (c) vs. Penelope Ford with Kip Sabian

Some shoving going on before the match gets going, that includes Kip Sabian. Aubrey Edwards isn't having any of this and boots him to the back. Sabian then grabs Shida's kendo stick and heads to the back. Shida drops Ford, goes for the Falcon Arrow, no. Ford able to get a roll-up for two, spinning kick, misses, Shida with a shot to the face. Ford heads out to the floor for a break, but Shida follows with a baseball kick. Ford tosses the champ into the apron and then the barricade.

Shida recovers and hits a big knee, then gets the match back in the ring. Ford gets control of the match, slamming Shida's head into the turnbuckle. Handspring back elbow, big boot, german suplex with the bridge for two on Shida. Shida recovers and lands some strikes, tries for a suplex, countered into a reverse suplex, cover, two. Shida with a kick and Fords an even bigger pump kick! Looks for the handspring stunner, Shida blocks it into a sleep, Shida spins her around right into a backbreaker, and another one, cover, two-count.

Shida hits the falcon arrow, but Ford rolls her over for a two-count. Shida charges in the corner with a running knee. She heads to the top rope goes for a dropkick and Ford matrix dodges it, hits a stunner, cover, two. Ford can't believe it, she goes out and gets the title. Referee follows and tells her to stop. Sabian runs out and tries to hit Shida with the kendo stick, she gets the stick and smacks him with it. Ford back in with a handspring stunner, cover, two! Ford to the top rope, moonsault, pool is empty. Shida with a running knee to the back of the head and then the front of the head. Falcon arrow lands, cover, 1-2-no! Shida hits a huge running knee to the face, cover, and that will do it.

Winner: Hikaru Shida

- Taz breaks down AEW World Champion Jon Moxley's paradigm shift. Says Brian Cage's upper body is too big and will provide a major challenge to Moxley pulling off his finisher successfully.

AEW TNT Championship: Cody (c) with Arn Anderson vs. Jake Hager with Catalina

Hager's wife at ringside for tonight's match. Hager is showing his strength early on, shoving Cody to the mat. Cody continues to get worked over, chopped in the corner, followed by some shots to the midsection. Cody able to get a pin attempt for a one-count, Hager tries for an ankle lock, Cody near the ropes and ends up reversing and trying one of his own for a moment. Anderson gets the attention for Hager for a moment. Cody charges in and eats a back elbow, Hager down to the floor, Cody with a step-up splash. Back in the ring, Cody with a drop toe hold and tries to work the leg.

Cody then gets the figure-four locked in, but Hager gets to the rope. Out on the floor, Hager ends up taking out Arn Anderson and then suplexes Cody hard to the ground. Hager really beating up the champion now, they end up on the floor, Hager looks to send Cody into the ring post and Arn is standing in the way. Hager stares at him, Cody then tosses Hager into the ring post. Back in the ring, Hager with a sleeper, Cody reverses with a jawbreaker to stop the hold. Cody with a springboard cutter! Uppercut by Cody, spinning powerslam, cover, two.

Hager puts Cody down, hits a vader bomb for two. Commentary notes time is beginning to tick down in this match. Hager with another vader bomb, Cody with the feet up and lands a reverse DDT, pin, two-count. Cody heads to the top, Hager follows and hits an overhead throw, cover, two. Hager with an ankle lock, Cody gets to the ropes though. Hager distracts the ref. Catalina with a slap to the face. Arn has the ref's attention now, Dustin runs down and punches Hager. Hager is able to still get his standing arm triangle locked in on Cody, who falls (collapses?) back on Hager and the referee counts to the three since Hager's shoulders were on the mat.

Winner: Cody

- Post-match, Hager thought he won and is extremely annoyed when he finds out otherwise. He punches the referee in the face. A bunch of officials and other referees run out to check on him. Hager just kind of stares off into the distance and then heads towards the stage where his wife meets him.

- Darby Allin on the phone and finds out he's still not medically cleared. He says, "You think I'm just going to sit on my ass at home?" We see a bunch of skateboard stunts with him and other friends.

- Orange Cassidy heads out to the stage with a chair in hand. He and Jericho will meet in the ring next week. Cassidy sits down at commentary, Jericho barks at him a bunch, but Cassidy just checks out the foliage around him.

Private Party with Matt Hardy vs. Santana and Ortiz

Jericho is super annoyed Cassidy is at commentary, as he continues to do nothing. Isiah Kassidy and Santana get things started. Santana says he'll give Kassidy one free shot. Kassidy pops him in the face, Santana just laughs. Kassidy uses his agility and boots Santana. Ortiz tries to get involved and Quen dropkics him. Kassidy then leaps off Quen's back for a huge splash down on both guys.

Things move back into the match, Private Party get Santana down, cover, two. Santana with a powerbomb, Ortiz with a slingshot DDT on Kassidy. Ortiz with an octopus stretch on Kassidy, who gets worked over throughout the break. Cassidy still just sitting peacefully at ringside. Kassidy with a flurry of shots to Santana and then a cutter over the top rope on Ortiz. Kassidy avoids Santana and hits a spinning splash down on both opponents.

Santana with a big cutter on Kassidy. Ortiz has Quen up on the second rope, liger bomb! Santana sends Quen into the turnbuckle and then a leaping cannonball on Quen. Double suplex, cover, Kassidy jumps in to break it up. Santana tosses Kassidy out to the floor and into the barricade. Santana brings out the loaded sock. Matt Hardy takes the loaded sock away from Santana, they confront him, but Quen nearly gets the three count roll-up on Santana. Santana with a couple kicks to the face. They look for street sweeper on Quen, but he pulls Santana's headband down over his eyes. Ortiz is dispatched. Private Party lands Gin and Juice on Santana, cover (Ortiz tries to break it up, but is too slow), 1-2-3!

Winners: Private Party

- Post-match, Jericho finally throws some water at Cassidy and asks him what he's going to do?! Cassidy kicks his chair away and goes to leave, but Jericho tries to get at him. Other people quickly ran out to keep Jericho away. Jericho yells at Cassidy "You're gonna get it next week!" Cassidy just strolls away.

- Backstage, Dasha talks with Kenny Omega and Hangman Page about tonight's match. Page says he's feeling great, says Best Friends are great guys, even deserving of a title shot. Once they're in the ring, Page says "deserving" just dries up. Kenny Omega says they will retain and does his "good night (bang) and good night" sign-off.

- Chris Jericho leaves commentary for the main event.

- AEW Fight for the Fallen in 2 weeks (live) it will be AEW World Champion Jon Moxley vs. Brian Cage with Taz. The match was scheduled for next week.

- Taz comes out to the ring with Brian Cage, he says now that we all know about it. Taz says he and Cage are cool about the delay in the title match. Taz says he spoke with Tony Khan and found out Moxley is concerned for the health of everyone in AEW. Taz says Moxley has been tested (for COVID-19) twice and both times it was negative. He says Moxley will be tested yet again if he did show up next week because AEW doesn't run a "sloppy shop." He says Moxley just has a case of the "chicken s--ts" and Cage will take the title on July 15.

AEW World Tag Team Championship: Hangman Page and Kenny Omega (c) vs. Best Friends

Best Friends roll up to the building in a van with Trent's mom driving it. Omega and Taylor get things going with both trading a bunch of moves, ending with a stalemate. Back and forth tags as the champions work over Trent. FTR bring out some beach gear/drinks and sit over by commentary. Trent getting beat up by the champs. Taylor tags in, sends Omega to the floor and then hits a big flip down on both opponents. Trent then hits a suicide dive on Omega. Taylor then hits an overhead suplex sending Omega into Page.

Back in the ring, Page fights off both opponents, fallaway slam on Trent, kip-up, splashes down on Taylor on the floor. He runs back into the ring and lands a big lariat on Trent. Omega on the top rope, big missile dropkick, fisherman's buster on Trent, cover, two. Trent with a running knee on Omega, then tags in Taylor. Chuck hits a spike piledriver, cover, Page breaks it up. Taylor lands some knees, but Omega hits a snap dragon suplex. Trent tags himself in and eats the same move. Taylor then takes another one! Both guys slumping in the corner, Page tags in and hits an assisted german suplex. Pop-up powerbomb on Trent, Omega with a knee to the back of the head, cover, two.

Last call attempt, Trent dodges, Omega pulled out of the ring. Taylor and Trent hit strong zero! Omega breaks up the pin though. Omega with v-trigger, tries for one winged angel, nope, Taylor with a big piledriver, Omega rolls to the floor. Best Friends with a hug. Taylor takes a boot from Page. Page with a rolling elbow on Trent, and then another one. Page tries for a roll-up, but Trent sits down on Page for a two-count. Page hits deadeye, cover, two-count. Buckshot lariat crushes Trent, cover, 1-2-3.

Winners: Hangman Page and Kenny Omega

- Post-match, FTR walks to the ring and offer up some drinks to the champions. Page takes it and has some. Omega takes it and toasts FTR, but he ends up pouring out the beer. FTR doesn't appreciate that, but Matt and Nick Jackson run out to try and calm things down. Matt tries to tell them Kenny doesn't drink beer. The last shot is Omega, Matt, and Nick on one side jawing away while FTR and Page are on the other.
