After a brief stop at heavyweight, Ovince Saint Preux will return to 205 pounds for a fight against undefeated prospect Shamil Gamzatov.

Multiple sources confirmed the matchup to MMA Fighting on Wednesday evening. Saint Preux later tweeted a copy of his signed bout agreement.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Back at it on August 22. This time I don’t get to eat all the goodies. Back down to my original weight class. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/ufc?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#ufc</a> <a href="https://t.co/w9G1DP2KwQ">pic.twitter.com/w9G1DP2KwQ</a></p>&mdash; Ovince Saint Preux (@003_OSP) <a href="https://twitter.com/003_OSP/status/1278712802157441024?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">July 2, 2020</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

The fight between Saint Preux and Gamzatov was originally scheduled for April but the Russian was pulled from the bout due to travel restrictions from the coronavirus pandemic. Eventually, the entire card was scrapped and Saint Preux was offered a fight at heavyweight in May.

Saint Preux faced off with Ben Rothwell but came up short in a split decision before making the decision to return to the light heavyweight division.

Meanwhile, Gamzatov comes into the fight with an unblemished record including a split decision win over Klidson Abreu in his UFC debut this past November.

Prior to coming to the UFC, Gamzatov went 2-0 in the PFL including a win over former Ultimate Fighter veteran Eddie Gordon.

The UFC Fight Night card on Aug. 22 will take place at the APEX facility in Las Vegas with a main event still to be determined.
