AEW Dynamite

This week on DYNAMITE, The Inner Circle’s Chris Jericho and Jake Hager take on Private Party. We hear from AEW World Champion Jon Moxley and Lance Archer about their upcoming title match. Hangman Page is flying solo this week, going one-on-one with Frankie Kazarian. Jurassic Express go head-to-head with the new AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR to prove they're ready for a title shot. And Santana and Ortiz take their fight with Best Friends to the parking lot.

- The regular weekly video signature gets us started as this week's AEW Dynamite broadcast kicks off on TNT. From there we shoot inside Daily's Place amphitheater in Jacksonville, FL. as pyro explodes and the camera pans around the crowd as Jim Ross welcomes us to the show.

- Before our opener can get started, The Young Bucks -- Nick and Matt Jackson -- hit the ring and blast the referee with stereo-super kicks. They head to the back and throw a stack of cash at Tony Khan who is sitting in gorilla position to pay for their fine in advance.

Jurassic Express vs. FTR

As Excalibur and Tony Schiavone join J.R. on commentary, we see Jurassic Express already in the ring as their non-title match against AEW Tag-Team Champions FTR in hopes of earning a title shot is this week's opener.

After The Young Bucks walk away following the aforementioned referee attack, FTR mocks them as they walk by and then accompanied by Tully Blanchard, the AEW Tag-Team Champions head to the ring for this week's opening contest here on AEW Dynamite.

The bell sounds and here we go as Jungle Boy and Cash Wheeler kick things off. Hardwood establishes control and tags in Dax Harwood. FTR is off to a good start in this week's opener. Jungle Boy gets in some offense and tags in the big man of Jurassic Express.

As the fans chant for Luchasaurus, FTR takes a moment to recollect themselves with Tully Blanchard. They capitalize on a chaotic situation to double-team Luchasaurus briefly, establishing the offensive lead before settling back into the action. It isn't long, however, before Luchasaurus turns the tables and gets in some big punches and clotheslines as he is now in the offensive driver's seat.

Referee Paul Turner is the impromptu official that has taken over the officiating for this match, for those curious, as the original referee was taken out by the double super kicks from The Young Bucks before this one got started. The announce trio gave us that update as FTR re-establishes the offensive lead again in the match, taking it to Jungle Boy who tagged in a moment ago.

After enjoying several minutes in a comfortable lead, FTR watches on as Jungle Boy finally makes the tag to Luchasaurus. The big man comes in and cleans house, launching one FTR member onto the other before following-up with a chokeslam and a standing moonsault for a near fall. Jungle Boy joins in on the action now, as he tags back in and is hitting dives and high-flying moves for close near falls over Wheeler.

Wheeler takes a double knees shot from Jungle Boy and falls into his corner, where Harwood tags in. Jungle Boy takes it to Harwood as well, however, hitting a diving cross-body off the top for another near fall that Wheeler breaks up just in time. Jungle Boy, the man with the best school-boy roll-up in the business, only gets two again on a pin attempt just now. He hits a tope-suicida dive through the ropes splashing but moments later is knocked down and covered by one member of FTR while the other distracted the ref's line of vision as Blanchard held his feet outside the ring apron on the floor.

Winners: FTR

- We shoot backstage as the announcers freak out upon hearing that something has unfolded. Alex Marvez is standing by and walks up on Matt Hardy laid out on the ground.

Private Party are standing over Hardy asking if he is ok as Marvez also checks on his condition. Up walks the duo of "The Demo God" Chris Jericho and Jake Hager who pretend to be concerned for Hardy as well, but end up mocking him and walking off after telling Private Party that they'll see them in the ring later this evening.

After this, we head to a commercial break.

Frankie Kazarian vs. "Hangman" Adam Page

- Back from the break to Kenny Omega joining the trio of Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone and The Excalibur on commentary as Frankie Kazarian makes his way to the ring.

Out next is Omega's former tag-team partner "Hangman" Adam Page. The announcers ask Omega how it feels to see his former tag-team partner and he acts like he couldn't care less. The bell sounds as Hangman takes his vest off and our second match of the evening here on AEW Dynamite gets underway.

The two lock up and Hangman gets Kazarian backed into the corner as the announcers continue to grill Omega about his relationship with Page and where the two currently stand. Kazarian hits a nice back-suplex and then slaps a front face-lock on Page. Page powers out but is taken down by a drop toe hold and locked in an arm submission as Kaz shows off his mat wrestling skills.

Kazarian continues to dominate the action as Excalibur sounds surprised on commentary to see him on the wrong side of a one-sided beatdown. Omega doesn't seem to care again. As they talk about this, Hangman starts to take over, hitting a nice splash out to the floor on Kaz as J.R. takes us to a mid-match, picture-in-picture commercial break.

We're back from the break and with the action back inside the ring, we watch as Page continues to take it to Kaz, as he has been in the offensive driver's seat throughout the picture-in-picture break. As Kaz shows signs of life, Page maintains control and stops a Kaz comeback attempt short. As both guys are down selling, the fans break out into a "This Is Awesome" chant.

Now Kaz does start to make his offensive comeback while Omega talks about knowing Page's toolbox of offensive options and claims he's running out of things to try. The announcers put over the humidity in Jacksonville as the two continue trading near falls while the fans continue to break out in "This Is Awesome" chants. The ring announcer has given a time limit warning.

Hangman looks for the Buckshot Lariat, however Kaz had it well scouted and scooted under the bottom rope out to the floor. Hangman ends up calling an audible and ends up on the floor where he levels Kaz with a big clothesline. Back on the ring apron, Hangman hits the Buckshot Lariat with emphasis on the mark this time and scores the 1-2-3 for the pin fall victory.

After the match ends, Hangman's music plays and Omega talks about the singles division before leaving. The announcers question why he won't join Hangman in the ring and why he refuses to entertain the idea of going after the AEW Tag-Team titles again now that Hangman has proven he has his head on straight again. Omega no-sells the topic and leaves. Hangman is shown in the ring looking around for Omega, who is nowhere to be found.

Winner: "Hangman" Adam Page

MJF vs. Shawn Dean

Maxwell Jacob Friedman's music plays and out comes MJF, accompanied by Wardlow. The two make their way to the ring, where MJF will be in action when we return from a picture-in-picture commercial break.

We return from the break and we see Shawn Dean, the opponent for MJF has entered the ring as well. The bell sounds and MJF immediately pokes Dean in the eye before locking him in his Salt of the Earth fujiwara armbar for the unbelievably quick submission win.

Winner: MJF

- After the match, MJF gets on the mic and calls Jon Moxley a cheater. He says because Mox cheated, he should be undefeated. And he should be the AEW World Champion.

MJF - The undefeated, undisputed, uncrowned, world heavyweight champion of All Elite Wrestling. He now demands Justin Roberts, the AEW Dynamite ring announcer, say his new name in front of the whole world. As Roberts begrudgingly does so, MJF cuts him off and orders him to "say it with some gusto" or Wardlow will pay him a visit. He obliges.

Now Friedman returns to his complaining, claiming that only those in a stable or faction thrive in AEW. He says he's always been a lone wolf but maybe it's time for this wolf to join a wolfpac. He says whether he joins a group or not it doesn't matter because at the end of the day, he's better than us, and he knows it.

- Ricky Starks highlights are shown as Team Taz leader Taz puts his analyst hat on and talks us through the clips, freezing the action to explain techniques for the latest Taz technique talk segment.

- Now we shoot back to the ring where Eddie Kingston is with The Lucha Bros. The Butcher and The Blade are also there at ringside.

Kingston talks about never being eliminated at the Casino Battle Royale and again points out that he should be the next man to challenge Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship.

He talks about his family, as Rey Fenix walks over and they put their arm around each other. Pentagon JR. is also standing by. Kingston tells Butcher & Blade to "find a victim please."

On that note, they turn and attack two members of the crowd. The foursome of Lucha Bros and Butcher & Blade proceed to beat the piss out of the two as Kingston provides sarcastic commentary on the house mic while watching the violence unfold in the ring before him. He asks them to clear the ring and the two are thrown out to the floor.

Kingston says he's got Fenix ready, his best friend, Pentagon, is ready and so is Butcher & Blade. He says for his third point, since he's got their side under control, he tells Blade that it's time to get his house in order. Blade seems to know what that means, although the announcers are confused as to what he was referring to.

We head to a commercial break.

Private Party vs. Chris Jericho & Jake Hager

We're back from the break and we see the ring entrance of Private Party, as Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen begin making their way down to the ring as we hear "Shots! Shots! Shots! Shots!"

Next out is another sing-along-friendly theme, which is honored by the fans strongly as Jacksonville sings along with "The Demo God" as his popular theme plays and he and Jake Hager make their way to the ring.

Jericho smiles as the fans sing acapella the remainder of his theme after the music cuts off. The bell sounds and Hager immediately starts dominating the action, helping his team off to an early offensive lead over Quen. Quen tags in Kassidy, however, and the two get in some offense of their own.

"Le Champion" tries providing the assist, however he is knocked to the floor along with Hager, on opposing sides of the ring. The two Private Party members hit stereo tope suicida's to opposing sides of the floor, splashing onto Jericho and Hager and following up with ferocious punches as the fans chant along with each shot by saying "Shots! Shots! Shots! Shots!"

Back in the ring, Hager and Jericho take it to Quen now and as Hager establishes the dominant lead, "Le Champion" tags in for his first legal action of the contest. "The Demo God" continues taking it to him now, clotheslining him off the ropes while the announcers talk about "Floyd" the baseball bat that Jericho brought with him to the ring for this match, although it has yet to make an appearance in the action.

Jericho tags Hager back in and he digs into the ribs of Quen in the Inner Circle corner of the ring as the two continue to enjoy their comfortable offensive lead in this match. Moments later, however, Quen breaks free and scurries to his corner to make the tag to Kassidy.

Kassidy comes in and now for the first time in a few minutes, Private Party is showing signs of life. Just as they start to find their offensive footing, Hager gets in a cheap shot with "Floyd" the baseball bat to shift the momentum back in the Inner Circle duo's favor as we head to a mid-match, picture-in-picture commercial break.

With the action back in full screen, we hear Excalibur point out on commentary the fact that Hager has been dominating the action throughout the commercial break, which he is still doing now as he has Kassidy locked into a rear chin-lock in the middle of the ring. The announcers talk about the beating Kassidy has taken while Quen has found himself isolated on the apron hoping for a tag.

After a Silly String double-team from Private Party puts Hager down long enough, Kassidy makes it to his corner to tag in Quen just as Hager tags in Jericho. The fresh Quen and Jericho come in and it is the more enthusiastic Quen who takes out the equally fresh "Demo God," as well as Hager, who has re-entered the action as Quen continues his fired up comeback on behalf of Private Party.

Quen hits a nice dive splash to the floor before returning to the ring for a pair of near falls. He tags Kassidy back in and the two hit their running leap-off-the-back of the other in the corner tribute to Hardy Boyz spot, following up with a creative neck-breaker spot for another close near fall. Kassidy is selling his back now as Jericho is also slow to return to his feet. Kassidy takes it to Jericho in the corner and steps aside as Hager splashes onto Jericho on accident due to the quick-thinking by the Private Party member.

The duo get in another near fall on Jericho as Hager recovers on the floor outside the ring, leaving "Le Champion" alone in the ring with no one to tag as Kassidy continues taking it to him with repeated punches on the ropes. Jericho tries hitting a Judas Effect out of nowhere but Kassidy ducks and rolls him up for a near fall. "The Demo God" kicks out at two. Kassidy heads to the top rope and comes flying off with a Senton splash that finds nothing as "Le Champion" moved just in time. Kassidy lands on his already sore back and upon getting up, he is met with a brutal Judas Effect from Jericho, who follows up with the pin for the victory.

After the match ends, Jericho continues punching away at Kassidy. He gets Kassidy in the Walls of Jericho. He sees Quen coming in but is too slow to let go of his submission finisher, as Quen decks "Le Champion" with a big punch, sending him retreating to the back with Hager as he checks on Kassidy while the Private Party theme plays and we head to another commercial break.

Winners: Chris Jericho & Jake Hager

NWA Women's Championship: Ivelisse (w/ Diamante) vs. Thunder Rosa (c)

Diamante comes out to accompany Ivelisse, as she challenges for the NWA Women's Championship on this week's AEW Dynamite. The two proudly sport their winnings from the first annual AEW Women's World Cup Tag-Team Tournament: The Deadly Draw.

Out next is the NWA Women's Champion as Thunder Rosa makes her way down to the squared circle for our next match of the evening here on the AEW on TNT broadcast. AEW Women's Champion Hikaru Shida is shown watching on from the front row as our women's singles contest gets underway as Ivelisse shoves Rosa.

The bell sounds after the push and now these two look to lock up, however Rosa keeps throwing kicks out to keep Ivelisse from closing the distance. Rosa with a nice arm-drag on Ivelisse. The two go for an arm-drag at the same time and wrestle around. They stop and stare each other down and then Ivelisse bitch-slaps the NWA Women's Champion, who returns the favor.

After the slaps turn to punches, the two re-engage and the action picks up as Rosa hits a head-scissors style takedown before playing to the crowd long enough for her to recover, as Rosa turns right into a big boot from Ivelisse. She fights back in the lead but then Ivelisse ganis the upper-hand after slamming the champion down off a reversal.

Rosa blasts Ivelisse with a dropkick and then a running leaping elbow strike. She pulls Ivelisse into the center of the ring and covers her for a count of two from referee Aubrey Ewards. Rosa has Ivelisse on her back in a submission, but Ivelisse reverses after a distraction from Diamante at ringside. Shida is shown again in the front row watching on as Ivelisse takes over the offensive lead in the match as the action spills out to the floor and "Good Ole' J.R." takes us to a mid-match, picture-in-picture commercial break.

We're back from the break and we see Ivelisse still in control of the action, which is still in progress but is back in the ring now. Rosa hits a nice dragonscrew leg sweep and gets in a couple of other moves before Ivelisse takes back over on offense briefly. Rosa gets Ivelisse on the mat and locks her in a submission, however Ivelisse gets her foot under the ropes. Rosa tries dragging her to the middle of the ring, but Ivelisse gets back in the contest now, landing some shots. Rosa slows her momentum by executing a nice death valley driver.

Ivelisse rolls through a follow-up spot from Rosa and blasts her with a nice kick to the grill for a near fall that turns the momentum into the challenger's favor. Just as Ivelisse gets comfortable in the lead, she gets a big shot in the gut before the champ follows up with a devastating Tombstone Piledriver for the pinfall victory. With the win, Rosa retains her NWA Women's Championship in a great match.

Winner and STILL NWA Women's Champion: Thunder Rosa

- After the match, as Rosa celebrates and poses with her NWA Women's Title belt, she is attacked from behind by Diamante.

As she and Ivelisse start to follow-up with some continued double-team attacks on the NWA Women's Champion, the AEW Women's Champion and her opponent from ALL OUT, Hikaru Shida, leaves her front row seat to hit the ring and make the save, clearing house of Ivelisse and Diamante before picking up the NWA Women's Championship belt and handing it back to its' rightful owner.

Rosa puts the title over her shoulder as Shida exits the ring.

- We go backstage where we see "The Best Man" Miro pumping some iron. While he does his bench-press workout, Kip Sabian is cheering him on while his soon-to-be beautiful bride Penelope Ford actually serves as Miro's spotter for the set.

After Miro puts the bar back up on the handles, he sits up and with his pump now fully on and popping, he talks about his debut on last week's show. The two then talk about the wedding and how they're going to have the best bachelor party of all-time.

Once the two finish up with a couple of follow-up comedy lines, we head back to another commercial break.

- We return from the break to the sounds of the theme music of "The Murderhawk Monster" Lance Archer.

The number one contender to the AEW World Championship and the man who will challenge Jon Moxley for the title at AEW FULL GEAR 2020 makes his way to the ring, walking with a purpose and in a hurry as usual, and in typical "Murderhawk Monster" fashion, Archer yanks an unsuspecting spectator from the crowd over the barricade and commences to kicking some butt.

He throws him in the ring to add some more violence to the equation before finally finishing up and allowing Jake "The Snake" Roberts to cut a very, very gravly voiced promo in his eery, already soft-spoken style. He culminates a long put-over of Archer by calling out Team Taz, which brings out the leader of the group himself, Taz, as apparently he has selected him to handle the partners for Archer for next week's multi-person match between Team Archer and Team Moxley.

"The Human Suplex Machine" makes his way down to the ring and gets on the mic. Taz brings up an agreement that the two sides have that one of his men gets the first crack at Archer when he takes the title from Moxley at the AEW FULL GEAR PPV.

As they wrap things up, coming to an agreement, they hear the music of AEW World Champion Jon Moxley playing. In trademark Mox fashion, he appears at a random spot outside of the regular entrance tunnel at Daily's Place amphitheater, however his location must have been discovered prior to his surprise disruption just now, as Team Taz members Ricky Starks and Brian Cage are already standing by in hoods and masks where they jump and attack Moxley from behind.

As this is going down, out of nowhere up runs Will Hobbs, the latest signee for All Elite Wrestling, who cleans house with a steel chair, making the save for Mox. Mox recovers and gets back up. He gets on the mic and introduces his partner for next week's match -- Will Hobbs. He says they're going to need a third partner, so he's going to call on the services of Taz's favorite wrestler. He looks at the camera and addresses Darby Allin, telling him to get his ass to Jacksonville because they've got a war to settle next week on AEW Dynamite.

He drops the mic on that note and his music plays again as the camera switches back to showcase the facial reactions of all involved at their various spots throughout the amphitheater at Daily's Place.

- The announcers then formally announce the match as a graphic airs showing the Jon Moxley, Will Hobbs & Darby Allin vs. Lance Archer, Brian Cage & Ricky Starks six-man tag-team bout.

They go on to run down other matches, such as Orange Cassidy vs. Mr. Brodie Lee for the TNT Championship and others for next week's AEW on TNT broadcast.

They then give one final plug to tonight's main event, which is up next. The Parking Lot Fight graphic for the upcoming Best Friends vs. Santana & Ortiz graphic airs now as we head to a commercial break.

Parking Lot Fight: Best Friends vs. Santana & Ortiz

We return from the break to a shot of a bunch of cars parked in a circle with a big space in the middle in the parking lot of the Daily's Place amphitheater in Jacksonville, FL.

The bell sounds as Justin Roberts formally introduces the Parking Lot Fight main event for this evening, with Proud 'N' Powerful (Santana & Ortiz) taking on Best Friends -- Chuck and Trent.

We hear the announce team re-join the action now as the fight gets underway in our Parking Lot setting as we see Santana & Ortiz with their faces painted up like the infamous ending sequence of the classic movie "Dead Presidents"

The fight starts getting a bit more even now, as Chuck and Trent get a sheet of plywood involved, setting it up like a table on top of one of the cars in the big circle. We see a close-up shot of the back of Santana and Ortiz, as they have had the hoods of some vehicles slammed on their back by the Best Friends.

Santana is busted open and bleeding now after his head is slammed into the mirror of one of the cars. We see blood pouring down the white paint covering his face. Ortiz has a sledgehammer now and he throws it like an ax in an ax-throwing competition led by Paul Bunyon, however his intended target moves and it smashes through the windshield of a defenseless vehicle that did nothing to deserve that treatment.

As the action continues things build to a huge spot where Santana & Ortiz hit a cool suplex on top of one of the cars, with the landing smashing and exploding the back windshield out and the other member of Proud 'N' Powerful immediately follows up flying off of something else nearby for a big splash.

Another plywood board is set up diagnally long-ways directly against the headlights and hood of one of the vehicles. We see Trent charge and splash onto Ortiz, putting him through the board as the announcers point out the bloodied up elbow of Ortiz after a painful landing. Trent isn't doing much better physically as a result despite initiating the move.

Chuck and Santana are trading shots now and taking turns slamming each other face-first onto the hoods of some of the cars. Ortiz goes for a swinging DDT on the concrete on Trent but Trent avoids it. He didn't, however, avoid the follow-up dust pan shot to the dome. He is slammed on a car after that. Meanwhile, Trent drags a chunk of the steel guard rail that is usually surrounding the ring and leans it up against the headlights and hood of another car, in the same fashion that the plywood board was earlier.

He suplexes his opponent onto it and it bends significantly upon their harsh landing. Trent is now power-bombed onto the hood of another car, badly denting it. Santana & Ortiz pick up Trent again and now they launch him with a double team power-bomb throw. Trent goes sailing and crashing directly onto the windshield of another car, crashing through it and his back is torn up and bloody as a result. The camera gets a good shot of Trent's ripped up back.

Chuck blasts Santana & Ortiz from behind with a big chunk of the plywood board that someone was put through earlier. It looked like a double-long version of the 2x4 that ole' "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan would carry around, only half as thin so it breaks over the back of the intended target and splinters into a bunch of other pieces, which are used in follow-up attacks by Santana & Ortiz as they take over the offense seconds later.

They have Chuck and Trent both down now and there is blood everywhere on the concrete around them. Like an obnoxious amount. This has been a pretty overwhelmingly violent main event, by the way. The announcers start pleading for someone to stop this fight, but point out that based on the rules, no one but the competitors can, as the only way to win is by pin fall, submission or surrender. As Chuck and Trent remain laid out, Santana and Ortiz load up with more weapons, but before they can do anything further, out of one of the trunks of the cars pops the "Freshly Squeezed" one himself.

Orange Cassidy takes out Ortiz with the Orange punch. He brings him over to Chuck, who slams him on one of the cars. Trent slams the other member of Proud 'N' Powerful on top of another car nearby and scores the win on the follow-up pin. This incredibly violent Parking Lot Fight has come to a conclusion.

Winners: Best Friends

- Post-match, Cassidy helps the guys over to Sue's van and the group gets in. She goes to drive off with the winners, stops for a second, flips Santana and Ortiz the middle finger, and then drives off as the show comes to a close.
