Shamil Musaev and Uros Jurisic engaged in a post-fight melee right after their welterweight showdown at Saturday’s KSW 58 in Poland, and the promotion has hit both fighters with fines for their unsportsmanlike conducts.

It all started after Musaev was announced as the winner via unanimous decision, proceeding to take Jurisic down and attacking him.

After reviewing the situation, KSW released a statement Wednesday announcing that Musaev and Jurisic will be fined 50 and 30 percent of their purses, respectively. KSW fighter Abus Magomedov, who was in Musaev’s corner, received a six-month suspension as a fighter and a full year as a cornerman.

“All the unauthorized persons, who entered the cage after the fight was over, are banned from taking part in the KSW events as members of fighters’ teams,” the statement continued. “KSW would like to emphasize that unsportsmanlike behaviour and violations of the federation’s rules by the fighters or members of their teams is completely unacceptable.”

Musaev’s unanimous decision win will stand, KSW announced, but the Fight of the Night bonus money won’t be given to either athlete. Instead, KSW will donate the bonus and penalties money “in its entirety to help the treatment of two young girls - Laura Paczula and Pola Omielanczuk, daughter of KSW and UFC veteran Daniel Omielanczuk.”

Musaev improved to 15-0 with the victory, his last three being under the KSW banner, while Jurisic, a veteran of Bellator, Titan FC and season 21 of The Ultimate Fighter, fell to 11-1 as a professional.
