    Angry Eli Drake Signs With WWE


    On the same day the news broke that WWE has reportedly signed Taya Valkyrie, another report states that the company has signed Eli Drake.

    Mike Johnson of PWInsider states that WWE has signed the former IMPACT World Champion. “WWE has signed former Impact Wrestling World Champion Eli Drake (real name Shaun Ricker, 38) to a deal for the WWE NXT brand, PWInsider.com has confirmed,” wrote Johnson.

    Drake was a prominent player for the National Wrestling Alliance in 2019, but Johnson notes that Drake was “quietly released” last year.

    Drake had an unremarkable run on NXT in 2013-2014. Since then, he has starred in IMPACT Wrestling, where he won the promotion’s world title. He also held the NWA World Tag Team Championship with James Storm.

    Like Valkyrie, Drake will likely be revealed as part of the WWE Performance Center class.

    Eli Drake debuted on the Pre-Show of WWE NXT Takeover: Vengeance Day as LA Knight.
