This week on DYNAMITE, Dark Order challenges The Good Brothers. Kris Statlander takes on Nyla Rose. And after weeks of punishment, MJF is ringside as Chris Jericho meets Wardlow.





– This week's show kicks off with an "In Memory Of" graphic in honor of the late "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton and then we shoot to the traditional signature weekly video intro for AEW Dynamite.

We are live inside the Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh, PA. where Jim Ross does his weekly catchphrase to welcome us to the show before introducing his broadcast partners Tony Schiavone and Excalibur.

– J.R. then sends us to a video promo segment featuring MJF and Wardlow. The Pinnacle leader boasts of beating Chris Jericho twice already. He goes on to talk about all that he has made Jericho endure. He then talks about how Wardlow is going to stop him just before he makes it to Chapter 5 and gets a rematch against him.

As he continues chomping on an apple while he talks, he says if Jericho somehow does beat Wardlow and gets a rematch with MJF, all that he went through will be only to discover that MJF is better than him, and he knows it.

Wardlow makes a comment and MJF taunts him by saying like he beat Cody in the cage. He demands Wardlow get the job done tonight. He slaps the apple he was chomping on into the hands of Wardlow and walks off. Wardlow looks in his direction and squashes the apple.

– It’s announced AEW World Champion Kenny Omega vs. Christian Cage at AEW All Out on September 5. Cage is the number one ranked wrestler in AEW and currently undefeated.

Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks with MT Nakazawa, Don Callis, and Brandon Cutler vs. Dante Martin, Mike and Matt Sydal

Matt S. getting the best of Matt J. as we get things going. Mike tags in and drops down on Matt’s arm. Mike with a couple arm drags on the champ. Martin tags in, but Matt is able to put him down and does some taunting. Martin with a huge dropkick, then a high-air hurricanrana on Matt. Omega comes in for the blind shot, but then takes stereo enziguris. Martin gets an assisted launch out to the floor on his opponents. He then nails a high crossbody on Matt, cover, two.

The Elite getting in some cheap shots as Mike tags in the match. Nick in there with him and hits a big boot to the face. Mike really getting worked over in the wrong side of town. Omega gets in there, big chop to the chest. Mike trying to work his way over to his corner, avoids a bunch of strikes and is able to tag in Matt S. Fisherman’s buster on Mat, cover, Nick breaks it up. Matt S. with a double hurricanrana on the Bucks and applies a grounded cobra clutch on Matt. Mike gets involved in the submission and yanks back on Matt J’s neck. Omega gets in and hits the Sydal brothers with snap dragon suplex. Martin flies in and then flips out of snap dragon suplex. Big enziguri on Omega, crowd is really loving Martin. Martin with ten-punches in the corner on Matt. Dropkick on Nick, then a suicide dive out on Omega.

Omega with a huge hurricanrana out to the floor on Omega. He gets back in the ring with a double springboard moonsault press on Matt for a two-count. Martin finally runs into a big knee to the face. Everybody taking out everybody now. Omega with a massive v-trigger on Martin, one winged angel, nope! Martin with a pele kick, takes a v-trigger in the face, flips out of the tiger driver 98, roll-up, two, Omega rolls through a backslide, v-trigger yet again, one winged angel hits this time. Triple BTE trigger on Martin, cover, 1-2-3. Very fun opener.

– Tony Schiavone in the ring to get a comment, but Don Callis snatches away the mic. Before Callis can say much more, out strolls Christian Cage. Callis says Christian is a little outnumbered and isn’t dumb enough to come in the ring. Jurassic Express music hits and outs comes Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy (number one tag contenders). They get in the ring. Callis still on the mic. He tells Christian he’ll be facing Omega at All Out. Which they are totally okay with! CM Punk chants from the crowd. Callis says Christian is a hell of a ring general, and Omega is going to make sure he gets that five-star match he always wanted.

He tells Christian to head to the back, because they aren’t wrestling in Pittsburgh! Christian says, “Are you done talking, you Carny piece of s***?” Christian says their match is locked in, but Omega has more than one title match. Christian says Omega will face Christian for the Impact World Championship on Friday’s debut of Rampage. Jungle Boy then says he talked with Tony Khan and next week, he and Luchasaurus will face The Young Bucks for the Tag Titles on next week’s Dynamite.

– Video package for Malakai Black, who wonders if he’s actually the bad guy in this. He did what he said he would do to Cody Rhodes. Black says he feels like Cody has one foot in wrestling and one foot somewhere else. He warns anyone who dares step to him.

– AEW TNT Champion Miro announces he will have a match against Fuego del Sol on Friday’s Rampage. If Sol win, he’ll receive an AEW contract.

Daniel Garcia with 2.0 vs. Darby Allin with Sting

Back and forth action as things get started. Both trying for pinfalls, but neither have any luck getting the finish. Garcia with an armlock, 2.0 help with a distraction as Garcia works over Allin’s arm and then launches him shoulder-first into the corner. Big chops in the corner on Allin. Garcia charges and leaps, nobody home! Allin heads to the top, Matt Lee with another distraction, Garcia with a shot to the back.

Garcia with a hammerlock drop, cover, two. Garcia with chop to the back, which just annoys Allin. He slaps Garcia in the face, but eats an uppercut. Garcia tries for a suplex, nope, Allin with a springboard coffin drop right into a rear naked choke. Allin scrambles out of that and hits an over-the-top stunner. Allin heads to the top rope, coffin drop lands, cover, and that will do it.

Winner: Darby Allin

– Post-match, 2.0 tries to attack Allin and Sting puts an end to that mess. Sting beats up both guys, hits Lee with a suplex out on the ramp.

– Backstage, Death Triangle is finally together. The group talks about Andrade trying to break them up, but they need to do something. Penta says he wants Andrade first. PAC tells them not to worry about Andrade, he’s got him. He wants them to focus on the tag titles going forward as they are the best, and deserve gold. PAC tells Andrade they don’t know or like him, and don’t get why he’s obsessed with the group. PAC tells Andrade if he wants a match, he’s easy to find.

Chuck Taylor, Orange Cassidy, and Wheeler Yuta with Kris Statlander vs. Private Party and Matt Hardy with H.F.O.

Cassidy tries to put his hands in his pockets, Hardy doesn’t let him. Hardy does the “delete” taunt. Cassidy then puts Hardy’s hand in his pocket. Hardy with a side effect, cover, two. Hardy gets on the second rope, Cassidy slowly rolls away. Hardy charges him in the corner, hits it chest first. Cassidy goes to the second rope, decides to go to the first, does a lazy Hardy taunt, and just flops down on him, cover, two-count.

Private Party tag in and try for a double team move. Cassidy avoids it, tags in Yuta, hits some lights kicks to Kassidy, and Yuta with an assisted elbow dive on Kassidy. He puts Kassidy down to the mat, pin, two-count. Quen with a knee to Yuta’s back. Silly string lands on Yuta. Private Party continue to work over Yuta. He’s able to land a double dropkick to Private Party. Bunny and Statlander start jawing at each other. Rose runs out and drops Statlander. She smiles and backs up the ramp; the two meet later tonight. Jack Evans puts Cassidy down. Taylor trying to fight off all three opponents. Taylor with a big flip to the outside to drop The Blade and Angelico.

Back in the ring, Kassidy gets popped up into the air and down to the mat. Taylor then powerbombs Quen down on Kassidy. He hits a spinning liger bomb, cover, Hardy breaks it up. Cassidy in the ring now, spinning DDT on Hardy, kip-up, suicide dive out on Hardy. In the ring Yuta with the blind tag, Taylor slams Quen down. Yuta with a big splash down on Quen, pin attempt, two-count. Blind tag by Kassidy, Quen takes a german suplex with the bridge, Kassidy with a senton bomb down on Yuta, cover, two. He can’t believe Yuta kicked out. Everybody battling now, Yuta takes a rough looking gin and juice. Cassidy gets in the ring, orange punch on Kassidy. Evans with the distraction. Hardy throws Kassidy into Cassidy. Both out to the floor. Hardy with twist of fate on Yuta, cover, 1-2-3.

Winners: Matt Hardy and Private Party

– Backstage, Dasha talks with Andrade about PAC’s challenge. Andrade says PAC is very ungrateful. Chavo echos those sentiments. Andrade tells PAC should be careful what he wishes for. Chavo offers up the idea of facing PAC at All Out. Looks like that match is official.

– Video package featuring Santana/Ortiz and FTR. Ortiz says if FTR has the stones to get in the ring with them again, they should do it. Santana says they are coming for blood over and over. FTR better show up because they aren’t going anywhere.

Nyla Rose with Vickie Guerrero vs. Kris Statlander with Orange Cassidy

Statlander holding her ribs after that earlier attack from Rose. Statlander gets in the ring and gets immediately run over. Statlander with a couple kicks, but Rose lands a pounce on her opponent. Statlander tries for a couple punches, ends up taking a release german suplex. Rose charges, low bridge, Statlander pulls Rose off the apron, then hits a moonsault on her opponent. Cassidy and Guerrero meet face-to-face. Guerrero just screams at him and he cowers. Rose with a chokeslam on the apron, cover, two.

Rose drapes Statlander on the top rope, Rose heads to the top rope. Statlander walks away on her hands. Rose jumps down and spears her. She then puts Kris up on the top rope, Statlander slips under and lands a powerbomb! 450 Splash off the top rope, cover, and Statlander gets the win!

Winner: Kris Statlander

– Backstage, The Young Bucks (with Brandon Cutler) want to talk a bit. Matt says they struck again last week, getting rid of Hangman Page. Tonight, they showed the world why they are truly elite. Matt says for a year, they’ve shown they are at the top. Nick says next week’s match will be as easy as a lay-up. Nick goes to hit a lay-up, Luchasaurus blocks him. Jungle Boy gets the ball, Luchasaurus sets a big pick on Matt and Jungle Boy scores. They taunt the champs and head off.

– Video package of Red Velvet talking about her title match against Britt Baker. Velvet says she can’t be upset with Baker starting a new era, but isn’t thrilled with Baker being at the top. Velvet says she had to prove herself when she first came in AEW. Getting in the ring against everyone has helped her climb the ladder. We see clips of her segment with Baker on last week’s show. The two will meet this Friday on Rampage.

– In the ring, Tony Schiavone welcomes in AEW Women’s World Champion Britt Baker. Solid pop for the hometown champ. AEW handed out a bunch of towels for the fans to swing around. Baker talks about how she wasn’t afraid to step up when AEW needed a new champion to usher in a new era. Baker says she bleeds black and gold just as much as anyone. Baker says it’s been a rough year for everyone, she she wants to present “hope” to the crowd and holds up the title. She tells Red Velvet might have a glimmer of hope, if she had a match anywhere else, but not in Pittsburgh. On Friday, Red Velet is swimming in the deep end with the sharks. Baker holds up the title, but Red Velvet ambushes her and swings away. Referees jump in the ring to keep them away form each other. “DMD!” chant breaks out.

– FTW Champion Ricky Starks says he and Brian Cage keep missing each other, like two ships passing in the night. Starks says the two can meet face-to-face next week — no Hook or anyone else. Cage says he doesn’t believe that, but it doesn’t matter because he’s the machine. Looks like the two will have a face-off next Wednesday.

Impact World Tag Team Championship: The Good Brothers (c) with Brandon Cutler vs. Stu Grayson and Evil Uno with Colt Cabana

Impact Wrestling EVP Scott D’Amore is on commentary for this one. As Gallows and Anderson get to the ring, Grayson just flips out on them. In the ring, Uno goes to work on Anderson as the bell rings. Dark Order tagging in and out as they keep control of Anderson. Uno out on the apron, Cutler ends up pulling Uno off the apron. Cabana runs over and punches Cutler in the face. Cabana tries to chase Cutler off. Frankie Kazarian comes in and clotheslines Cutler, then drags him to the back.

Grayson steps off Gallows back and hits a spinning DDT on Anderson. Grayson with a big springboard twisting senton, cover, Gallows breaks it up. He drags Anderson over, tags in. Grayson tries to pick up Gallows, but that didn’t work. Anderson tagged in, double pele. Uno tags in, double team move, get over her as Anderson is launched into Gallows. 450 splash/senton cannonball tandem move on Good Brothers, cover, two-count. Gallows catches an uppercut on Grayson, magic killer, Uno breaks that up. Gallows out to the floor. Uno launches Grayson out on Gallows. Uno with a flatliner on Anderson. They look to finish off Anderson, Gallows throws in the title belt, sweeps out Grayson’s leg. Gunstun on Uno. Magic killer on Grayson, pin, champion retains.

Winners: The Good Brothers

– NWA Women’s World Champion Kamille introduces herself as she’ll eventually face Leyla Hirsch at an upcoming NWA EmPowerrr PPV. She tells Hirsch is not going to get her off her feet. Kamille says the whole world is going to watch her beat Hirsch.

– In the ring, Tony is with QT Marshall and Aaron Solow. He says it’s been about three weeks and is ready for his apology. Marshall takes the mic and says Tony should be apologizing to him. Marshall then tells Tony he instead gets to watch his son, Chris, get taken out. Nick Comoroto yanks in Tony’s son into the ring. He then gets punched in the stomach. Tony ends up being forced to apologize. QT says not good enough and hits a cutter on Tony’s son. Out from the back comes Paul Wight. Wight gets in the ring as Tony checks on his son. Solow gets shoved into Wight and he takes a big chokeslam. Wight staring straight at QT.

5 Labours of Jericho: Chapter 4: Chris Jericho vs. Wardlow with MJF

Jericho starting fast on the big man. He goes to the top rope, big double ax handle, codebreaker, cover, one-count. Wardlow beats up Jericho, release suplex. The two end up on the floor, Jericho gets whipped into the barricade. Wardlow throwing Jericho all over the place, drives him back-first into the ring post. He tosses Jericho back in the ring.

Wardlow looks for a big powerbomb. He ends up doing it over and over again. Commentary lost count at how many times he’s done it. Jericho put up on the top rope, Wardlow looks to finish him off with a big strike. Jericho drops down and is able to lock in the walls of jericho. MJF rakes the eyes as the referee was out of position. Referee catches MJF trying to interfere by passing the diamond ring to Wardlow and gets sent to the back. Referee focused on MJF. Jericho clocks Wardlow with his baseball bat, judas effect lands, cover, 1-2-3.

Winner: Chris Jericho

– Post-match, commentary says next week it will be Chris Jericho vs. MJF. Shawn Spears jumps in the ring and takes down Jericho. Sammy Guevara runs down and swings away on Spears. Wardlow gets back up and stomps away at Sammy. MJF gets back in the ring, locks in the fujiwara armbar on Jericho’s bad arm. MJF gets on the mic and says next week they will face each other, but he’s taking away something from Jericho in their match. He says no judas effect is allowed. Not even the music! Jericho is coming out to dead silence next week. MJF says if Jericho uses the move, MJF automatically wins. MJF predicts next week that Jericho hasn’t just met his match, he’s met his successor — Maxwell Jacob Friedman.
