AEW Rampage


Just one day before the two year anniversary of All Elite Wrestling's TNT debut, RAMPAGE is coming at you from Rochester, NY and The Blue Cross Arena! The escalating hostilities between The Super Elite and the Danielson/JurEx/Cage/Kazarian contingent were further amped up by Adam Cole's victory over Jungle Boy, and now Nick Jackson enters into a rare solo match against Bryan Danielson this Friday! And speaking of hostilities, they are about to explode in the Women's Division when Jade Cargill, Thunder Rosa, and Nyla Rose fight it out in a Three Way bout, and The HFO/Best Friends rivalry quite literally comes to a head when Orange Cassidy and Jack Evans fight it out in a hair match!





– This week's show kicks off with the opening video package and then we shoot inside the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, N.Y. where Excalibur welcomes us to the show.

– From there, we head straight down to the ring for our opening match of the evening here on Rampage, as Bryan Danielson makes his show debut against one-half of The Young Bucks.

Bryan Danielson vs. Nick Jackson (w/ Matt Jackson)

The bell rings. Bryan Danielson chases Nick Jackson around the ring. Nick backpedals with hesitation. They lockup. Jackson shoves Danielson off and turns it into a side headlock. Jackson hits the ropes and lands a shoulder tackle. Jackson is basking in his success. Jackson heads to the outside and sprays himself. Danielson follows him to the outside with a perfect suicide dive. Back in the ring, Danielson soars down with a shotgun missile dropkick. Danielson puts Jackson in a brutal surfboard then transitions it into a dragon sleeper.

Jackson turns this thing around with a big lariat. Danielson catches Jackson once he comes off with a springboard maneuver and applies an armbar. Danielson smashes Jackson’s chest before dropping him with a suplex. Danielson looks for a cover. Kick out by Nick. Danielson starts working on Jackson’s shoulder, looking to hyperextend it. Jackson backs them up into the corner. Danielson rocks Jackson’s world with shoot kick and chops combinations. Jackson sends Danielson to the other side with a well-scouted arm drag. Danielson topples to the outside. Once he lands on the outside, Matt Jackson spears Danielson just before we head to picture-in-picture.

Coming off the break, Nick slams Danielson face first with a bulldog. Then, he dares to mock Danielson’s repeated round kicks (fka Yes Kicks). Danielson eggs Jackson on then spits a big loogie to show his appreciation. Danielson takes charge with his own repeated round kicks with one major roundhouse to the head for one! Danielson connects two running kicks but gets superkicked on the third attempt. Jackson hooks the leg. Danielson kicks out.

Jackson flies off the top with a 450 only to get temporarily trapped into a LeBell Lock. Jackson finds the rope. Danielson rebounds with more round kicks. Jackson evades halfway through. Danielson slams his shin straight into the ring post. Jackson crashes down on Danielson with the Escalera. Back in the ring, Jackson ties Danielson up in a sharpshooter. Luckily, Danielson grabs the rope in time before adding more damage to his leg. On the apron, Jackson accidentally kicks Brandon Cutler in the face. Danielson pops in a bridged tiger suplex. Jackson fights out only to get put into the Cattle Mutilation. Without any hesitation, Jackson taps. Danielson scores a major win against his PWG foe!

Winner: Bryan Danielson

– After the match, AEW World Champion Kenny Omega and Adam Cole come out to check on Nick. Christian, Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy follow them out immediately after to prevent an attack on Danielson. Both groups brawl, the faces clear the ring. Jungle Boy locks Cole in the snare trap while the heels are on the outside. Danielson encourages Omega to get back in the ring. He does and gets put in the LeBell Lock. Cole and Omega stare at each other while both in submission and tap at the same time.

– Backstage, Powerhouse Hobbs and Hook say Ricky Starks has a special message for Brian Cage. Starks sends in a vignette describing how he won’t back down from a fight against Cage.

– Ricky Starks joins the commentary table before the second match of the night.

– In a taped video, CM Punk calls himself a five-tool player. Since arriving in AEW, he’s been untouchable. He wants the best that this company can give him. He says he would rather choke on facing the bigger guys than stabilize himself on mediocracy.

Jade Cargill (w/ Smart Mark Sterling) vs. Nyla Rose (w/Vickie Guerrero) vs. Thunder Rosa

Thunder Rosa takes the fight to Jade Cargill seconds after the bell sounds. Rosa gets caught off the ropes by Nyla Rose. Nyla slams Rosa on the mat and looks for the first pin in the match. Rosa kicks out. Then, Nyla and Cargill take turns exchanging blows. Cargill sends Nyla out of the ring with a pump kick. Rosa sneaks up to the top rope and hits a missile dropkick on the Cargill just before the commercial break.

Back from the break, Cargill brought in a garbage can. Rosa hit a dropkick on Cargill before using the garbage can to her advantage. Rosa with a cover. Nyla breaks it up. Rosa sends Nyla into Cargill, and Cargill dumps Nyla with a beautiful spinebuster. Rosa goes for a pin on Nyla. Nyla breaks it up. Nyla and Rosa are hanging on the apron with a set-up table on the outside. Nyla goes crashing through the table with a powerbomb from Rosa.

Rosa returns to the ring and gets plummeted with chair shots from Cargill. 1-2-3, Cargill nails the pinfall victory.

Winner: Jade Cargill

– Malakai Black enjoys the torture he has put The Nightmare Family through. And he isn’t done with them just yet.

– We look back at the triumphant victory Sammy Guevara had last week. The new TNT Champion looks forward to having a go-around with Bobby Fish this Wednesday.

– We just received word who four of the six participants will be at Dynamite’s Casino Ladder Match next Wednesday. The first four entrants announced are Jon Moxley, PAC, Lance Archer and Andrade El Idolo. The other two athletes will be announced later in tonight’s broadcast!

– Backstage, Just before their Hair vs. Hair main event match, Mark Henry speaks to Orange Cassidy and Jack Evans on a split-screen. Matt Hardy (who will be in Evans’ corner tonight) promises Cassidy will come out this bout with no hair. Cassidy is confused about what this match is. Henry reminds him what’s at stake, to which Cassidy replies, “I guess I better not lose then.”

Hair Vs. Hair: Orange Cassidy vs. Jack Evans (w/ Matt Hardy)

Matt Hardy storms into the ring; Orange Cassidy isn’t sure what this is about. He turns around only to get attacked by Jack Evans. Cassidy recovers and hits his wonderfully done kicks. He looks for a backslide but Evans wiggles out at two. Cassidy swings Evans round and round by his hair! Nervous about what’s going on to his client, Matt Hardy drags Cassidy out of the ring and lands a massive slap. Evans is right behind with a corkscrew from off the apron and then a 450. Our broadcast goes to picture-in-picture!

Jack Evans stays on top of Cassidy. Seconds before the show goes back to full screen, Evans captures a handspring back elbow.

Cassidy fires up two dives on Hardy and Evans! Then, he scales the ropes for a top rope crossbody for a two count. Evans recovers with a Northern Lights Suplex followed by a Michinoku Driver and a standing corkscrew moonsault for a near-fall! Cassidy spikes Evans with a DDT and a diving DDT for another 2.8 count!!

Hardy panics and brings out The Butcher, The Blade and The Bunny and the rest of the Hardy Family Office. Then, Chuck Taylor, Wheeler Yuta, Kris Statlander and The Dark Order come out to defend Cassidy. Meanwhile, back in the ring, Cassidy knocks Evans sideways with his Superman punch. 1-2-3, Cassidy keeps his luscious locks!

Winner: Orange Cassidy

– After the match, Yuta and Taylor are dressed in barber uniforms. Cassidy is first with the scissors. Everyone is having a blast. We end it with The Dark Order, Cassidy, Yuta, Statlander and Taylor surrounding -1 with a big hug in the center of the ring.
