AEW Rampage

This week on Rampage, Trent Beretta looks for payback on Adam Cole. John Silver and Alex Reynolds challenge the new AEW World Tag Team Champions Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus!





This week's show kicks off with the usual weekly intro and theme song and then we shoot inside the PNC Arena in Raleigh, N.C. where fireworks and pyro erupt as the fans react in the background. The camera sweeps the audience as Excalibur and the rest of the commentary team welcomes us to the show.

From there, we are sent down to the ring where it's time for our first of four advertised matches for tonight's show.

Adam Cole (with Dr. Britt Baker, Kyle O’Reilly, Bobby Fish, the Young Bucks & Brandon Cutler) vs. Trent Beretta (with Chuck Taylor, Orange Cassidy, Wheeler Yuta & Kris Statlander)

Beretta gets the early advantage and delivers some chops in the corner. Beretta catches Cole and delivers an overhead throw to take down cole. Beretta batters Cole against the ropes with punches and follows with a low dropkick that sends Cole to the outside.

Beretta heads out onto the ring apron and Cole trips him up and sends Beretta crashing down onto the apron and to the floor. Cole sends Beretta back into the ring. Beretta is favoring his neck. Starks mentions that it’s scary coming back from a neck injury.

Cole whips Beretta into the corner. Cole follows with a hangman’s neckbreaker. Beretta kicks out of the pin attempt.

Beretta tries to fight back but Cole puts him back down with a pump kick. Beretta rolls to the outside. Cole follows by attempting a Panama Sunrise to the floor but Beretta back body drops Cole out of it.

Beretta goes for a spear but Cole moves and Beretta crashes into the ringside barrier as we head to the picture-in-picture break.

Back from the break and Beretta is fighting back. He hits a deadlift German suplex on Cole. Beretta charges into the corner and hits a back elbow and follows that with a swinging DDT for a near fall.

Beretta charges Cole in the corner but eats a boot. Cole climbs to the second rope but Beretta cuts him off. Beretta goes to the top rope and brings down Cole with a superplex. That gets a 2-count.

Beretta picks up Cole but Cole elbows his way out of it and hits a backstabber. Cole sets up for a superkick, stomping the mat like Shawn Michaels. Beretta plays possum and Cole walks into a takedown.

Cole takes Beretta out onto the ring apron. Beretta reverses and hits a piledriver to Cole on the ring apron. Beretta hustles to get Cole back into the ring. Beretta looks like he’s going for Strong Zero but Cole reverses into the destroyer and that gets a near fall.

Cole climbs to the second rope but Beretta reverses the Panama Sunrise into a suplex. Beretta charges into a superkick by Cole. Cole climbs to the second rope again. Beretta reverses another Panama Sunrise attempt into Strong Zero. Cole gets his foot on the rope to break the referee’s count.

Now, everyone is brawling at ringside. Cole hits a low blow on Beretta while the referee is distracted and then hits The Boom and that’s enough to get the pin on Beretta.

Winner: Adam Cole

Back from the break with a look at the recent dealings between Thunder Rosa and Mercedes Martinez. Rosa says next time she sees Martinez, she wants to see her in the ring.

Shawn Spears (with Wardlow) vs. Andrew Everett

This is Everett’s AEW debut. Spears and Everett trade holds to start. Spears is proud of himself and shows off with a cartwheel. Everett gets the better of the next exchange but when he tries to springboard back into the ring Spears catches him and hits the C4 for the easy pin.

Winner: Shawn Spears

Spears gets on the mic and asks, “Is he really the best in the world? What about me?” Spears says he’s the guy MJF sends when he wants to send a message. Spears says he’ll never apologize. Spears says he’s the guy you never see coming. Spears says one swing with his steel chair and Punk will remember him forever. Crowd is chanting for Wardlow. Spears says he’s not a “one-move wonder”, he’s one of the best wrestlers on the planet. Spears says Punk can’t hang anymore. Spears says he’s going to expose Punk on Dynamite on Wednesday.

We go to a music video by The Acclaimed dissing Darby Allin and Sting. Platinum Max raps, “Two grown men and they’re going through a goth phase”. There’s also a mention of a buckle bomb in here.

Kris Statlander, Red Velvet & Leyla Hirsch vs. Nyla Rose, Penelope Ford & The Bunny

Statlander was in the ring to start but Hirsch tagged herself in and starts out against Rose. Rose gets the advantage and takes down Hirsch with a belly to belly.

Hirsch gets away and Statlander tags herself in. The Bunny is in as well. Statlander takes down The Bunny and controls her with a front headlock. They trade shoves and forearms. A reversal leads to a powerslam by Statlander and near-fall.

Velvet tags in. She and Statlander hit a double-team move on The Bunny. Velvet tags in Hirsch and more tag team offense on The Bunny. Hirsch grabs The Bunny by the arm but won’t tag in Statlander. Velvet tags herself in but they gave The Bunny time to tag in Rose and she takes control of Velvet as we go to the picture-in-picture break.

Back from the break, Rose hits a choke slam on Velvet. She kicks out at 2. Rose misses a senton. Velvet gets to the corner and tags in Statlander. Ford is also tagged in.

Statlander hits some offense in the corner and powers Ford up with a suplex that brings Ford down facefirst. Ford goes to the eyes to get some space. Ford is caught by Statlander bent over backward in a submission hold. Ford escapes and tags in The Bunny.

Statlander catches The Bunny in a blue thunder bomb for a near-fall. Hirsch tags herself in. Bunny pushes Hirsch into Statlander and rolls up Hirsch to steal the pin.

Winners: Nyla Rose, Penelope Ford & The Bunny

We go to pre-recorded comments by Dan Lambert, Ethan Page and Scorpio Sky. Sky wants Cody Rhodes and Sammy Guevara to figure out who is the one, true TNT Champion so he can challenge the winner.

A visit to the commentary desk where Ricky Starks calls out Jay Lethal. Lethal music plays and here he is. Lethal says he’s been watching what’s been happening between Dante Martin and Team Taz and it makes him sick. Lethal also noticed there aren’t many challengers for Starks’ FTW Championship. Lethal mentions that the FTW Title isn’t officially recognized by AEW. Lethal wants a match against Starks for the FTW Title. Starks gets up but the referees run out and get between him and Lethal.

Mark Henry interviews Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus and John Silver & Alex Reynolds. Silver & Reynolds play the Dark Order theme on kazoos. Christian Cage gets the joke but he says they’re not on Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus’ level.

AEW World Tag Team Championship: Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus (c) (with Christian Cage) vs. John Silver & Alex Reynolds (with Evil Uno & Anna Jay)

Jungle Boy and Reynolds to start. They trade some holds as they feel each other out. Jungle Boy hits his springboard arm drag to take down Reynolds.

Jungle Boy tags in Luchasaurus who puts down Reynolds with an overhand chop. Jungle Boy tags back in and hits an assisted senton from the top rope.

Reynolds catches Jungle Boy in a backslide but he rolls out of it. Silver tags in and takes down Jungle Boy with a boot and a back body drop.

Series of reversals put Silver on the ring apron, but Silver battles back and catches a dive by Jungle Boy into a suplex position on the floor. Reynolds follows with a dive to take down Jungle Boy as we head into the picture-in-picture break.

Back from the break and Silver & Reynolds are in control of Jungle Boy. Jungle Boy escapes and tags in Luchasaurus. He hits splashes on both Silver and Reynolds.

Luchasaurus grabs Silver for a chokeslam but Reynolds saves him. Luchasaurus grabs both and chokeslams Silver onto Reynolds. That gets a 2-count on Silver.

Jungle Boy is tagged back in. Silver reverses and lures Luchasaurus to send himself over the top rope. Silver tags Reynolds and they set up for a tag team maneuver. Jungle Boy hits a German suplex on Silver and goes up to get Reynolds.

Silver recovers and grabs Jungle Boy from behind. Luchasaurus grabs Silver in a powerbomb position and it leads to a “tower of doom” spot that takes down all four guys.

All four guys trade kicks. Silver dropkicks Luchasaurus to the outside. Silver and Reynolds hit some of their signature combination offense on Jungle Boy. That gets a very close near-fall.

Jungle Boy recovers with a clothesline and takes Silver down onto Evil Uno outside the ring.

Now, Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus hit some combination offense on Reynolds for a near-fall. One more tag team move on Reynolds finally puts him away.

Winners: Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus
