AEW Dynamite: Holiday Bash

AEW is LIVE on TBS tonight for Holiday Bash from San Antonio, TX! We've got a huge night including match 5 of the best of 7 with Death Triangle and the Elite. Tony Schiavone, Taz and Excalibur have the call of tonight's action.

Ricky Starks comes out to speak his peace. He says it would be nice to be here as AEW Champion, but that's how life goes. He calls MJF a coward and questions his testicular fortitude. Starks says that this is just the beginning. He vows to be the man around AEW. Here comes the Jericho Appreciation Society, Jericho, Guevara and Garcia. We see highlight's of Jericho's epic loss last week to Action Andretti.

Jericho says he's been looking at Starks for a long time. He says that Starks is just not quite ready yet. They think Starks has everything it takes to be a top man in the industry. They offer Starks a spot in the JAS.

Starks says he admires Jericho for dressing like a single father on his 5th divorce. While the offer is tempting, Starks says Hell no. He reminds Jericho of his loss last week and that the J in JAS should stand for jobber. Starks calls them JASholes, which might catch on. Starks challenges Jericho to a match on Jan 4th. Jake Hager attacks from behind. The four of them pound down on Starks. Action Andretti makes the save and he and Starks run off the JAS.


The Elite vs. Death Triangle - No disqualification

- As we return, there's a Christmas Tree in the ring. Matt Jackson gets thrown into it.
- Nick with a high cross body on to Death Triangle and a pair of superkicks to the Lucha Bros. Pac catches him in an ankle lock.
- Omega with the save by throwing a trash can at Pac. Omega moonsaults Pac with the trashcan in tow
- Omega brings out the barb wire broom and nails Fenix with it. Bulldog by Omega on Fenix
- Omega with a Tiger Driver 98 on Fenix as the Bucks put Pac and Prnta through tables
- Abrahantes pulls Omega's leg, but it's Omega with a V Trigger.
- Fenix with a rana for 2. Fenix with the hammer for 2
- Pac locks in the Brutalizer with TINSEL, which I find distracting.
- Matt Jackson saves Omega
- There are hammers everywhere, Omega snap dragons Fenix
- The Bucks nail a top rope Meltzer Driver on Fenix for the pin

We see footage form backstage last week where MJF is irate, calling Danielson a gutless #rick

Tony Schiavone is back stage with Action Andretti. He feels amazing. He knows the JAS is coming for him. Menard and Parker approach him. From behind, Jericho throws fire at him and leave him laying.

Renee Paquette brings out her old Talking Smack co host, Bryan Danielson. He pays respect to San Antonio and his trainers, Shawn Michaels and Rudy Boy Gonzalez. He credits William Regal for turning him into the person he is today. He warns MJF that there are consequences. Ethan Page and Stokley Hathaway come out and mock Danielson. Danielson challenges him here and now. Page agrees, but next week. MJF watches on with approval.

We see video of Hangman Page and Jon Moxley and then some words from Jon Moxley.

Earlier today, Samoa Joe wishes us a Merry Christmas, especially Wardlow. They meet on December 28th.

Jon Moxley vs. Darius Martin

Lockup, they exchange advantage. Half nelson snap mare by Moxley and a kick to the back. Shoulder tackle and we have a stale mate. Martin with a trip. Dropkick by Darius. Test of strength, Moxley kicks him and throws him to the floor. They brawl into the crowd. Suplex by Moxley.

Pathetic fact: the arena they're at is the same one that hosted Tuesday in Texas.

Dante Martin checks on his brother, who nails a tope. They get back in the ring and Moxley fires away and sends Martin to the floor. Suplex by Moxley back in the ring. Chops by Moxley in the corner. Moxley rakes the back. Chop by Darius. Moxley nails the forearms. Uppercut by Martin. Kick by Mox, he tears at the injured knee. Elbow by Martin. Uppercut again and a pair of clotheslines. Face buster by Martin for 2. Cross body by Martin, Moxley rolls through and stomps him. Elbows and a bulldog choke by Moxley. Moxley with a Death Rider for the pin.

Austin & Colton Gunn vs. FTR

Dax squares off with Austin Gunn. FTR is clearly banged up after the double dog collar match. Cash and Colton Gunnare now legal. Cash delivers an atomic drop and chops. Cash sends the Ass Boys into each other. FTR sends them to the floor as we go to commercial.

We're back and Austin gets slammed into the buckles. Colton is in and Dax tags in. Dax with clotheslines to both. The Gunns double team him but Colton eats a lariat but pulls Dax out of the ring, blocking a sharpshooter. Cash with a flying elbow to the floor, saving Dax from a spike piledriver. Austin sets up a kick but applies a sharpshooter to Dax. Cash saves him. Cash dives on Austin to the floor but eats the rail. Colton blocks a piledriver. Colton rolls up Dax with an assist from his brother and scores the pin.

We hear from Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal.

Tony is in the ring with Rick Ross. Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland come out for their face to face, to be mediated by Ross.

Ross appears to favor Swerve. Ross drops an Futher Mucker bomb on live TV. Sweve says he's gonna start doing things Swerve's Way. Ross drops an poop bomb. The censors are gonna be upset tonight. Parker Boudreaux attacks Lee and the crowd goes mild. Swerve looks on approvingly until Lee sends him out with a clothesline. Some one else, unnamed by the announcers, attacks Lee. Lee fights him off until Boudreaux nails him with a chair. Parker and the unnamed guy with tattos on his face set Lee up on the steps with a cinderblock across his chest. Swerve stomps him.


AEW World Women's Championship
Jamie Hayter (c) (w/Britt Baker and Rebel) vs. Hikaru Shida


Kicks by Shida, forearms by the champion and a huge forearm by Shida. Shida fires away on the champion. Knee strike by Shida, she stomps the champion in the corner. Sledgehammers to the back by the challenger. Gound and pound by Shida. Suplex by Shida. Shida lays the champion on the apron and nails a kneelift.

We go to commercial.

As we return, Hayter with a neckbreaker for 2. Elbows by Hayter but a running clothesline by Shida. Both are down. They trade forearms. Shida gets the edge and nails rapid fire. Dropkick by Shida. Shida with a 10 count of punches in the corner. Snap mare off the buckle by Hayter. Shida blocks a German Suplex. Back elbow by Shida, she sends Hayter into the post. Brainbuster on the floor by Shida as we take our last break.

We're back and Hayter sends Shida to the floor. Shida rebounds with a knee strike for 2. Lariat by Hayter for 2. Kicks by Shida. Release German by the challenger. Baker interferes while Rebel distracts. Shida take out baker but it's Hayter with a powerbomb for 2. Running lariat for 2 by Hayter. Rip cord by Hayter for the pin.

Winner: Jamie Hayter (retains title)

Baker stomps Shida and here comes Toni Storm to make the save. Hayter nails Storm with the title belt. Saraya comes out as well. We're desperately out of time
