Gable Steveson is yet to make his in-ring debut with WWE, but the Olympian is aiming high when it comes to opponents.

The 23-year-old made headlines in 2021 when he signed with WWE, mere weeks after capturing Olympic Gold in wrestling at the Tokyo Summer Games. Later that year, Steveson was drafted to Monday Night Raw, becoming the first person in history to be drafted prior to having a match. At WrestleMania 38, Steveson hit a suplex on Chad Gable in his first offensive move on WWE programming.

Steveson's rise to WWE's main roster has taken longer than expected, and last year, it was reported that the promotion had been underwhelmed by his level of improvement. It's no longer clear if that's still the case, given that the Olympian has laid down the challenge to Roman Reigns.

During a commercial for NBC's coverage of the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics, Paul Heyman declared that Roman Reigns will defend his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against anyone and at any time. Reigns quickly corrected that the only exception would be when the Summer Olympics is on TV. In the comments on an Instagram clip of the promo shared by Reigns' account Steveson teased challenging the Tribal Chief, stating:

"Anyone? Anytime? Roman vs Gable in Paris?!"

Whether Roman Reigns accepts the challenge or not, all signs are pointing to Steveson competing in Paris at next year's Olympic Games. Steveson has dominated the competition to qualify for Team USA so far and has not ruled out the possibility of going for a second Olympic Gold medal. Should he choose to compete at the Paris Olympics, it will put his WWE aspirations on pause. Steveson recently said his WWE 'time' will begin sooner than people think.
